A little terminology correction. "Beams" are horizonal framing members on which joists are placed/connected. "Columns" are vertical members on which beams are place and connected.

Well said! Clearly I'm not a builder... I'll try and remember that in the future!

Thanks for posting. I’m researching insulating my post frame. Insulation and vapor barrier best practices would dissuade from creating a 2 sided vapor barrier like u have (foam for outer wall, white faced portion of batt on inner wall). So, for others viewing this vid, it is a fact that any vapor or liquid that finds its way into the wall will have no place to go with this approach, and I would not insulate this way. I am seriously considering these wide batts myself, just not going to use foam or anything else towards the outside wall, that also acts as a vapor barrier. I admit having had a strong urge to fill all available space I have in the wall, especially when foamboard is the perfect thickness to match the outer wall gerts! It’s really tempting, and hey, more insulation is more better, right? But no, don’t do it!

Now that it’s been a year or more did you have any condensation issues where the insulation touches the outer steel?

I'm looking to do the same to my pole bld. You didnt feel it necessary to support the ins. with there steel banding? Are you insulating the ceiling with the same product?

No, it wasn't necessary once I installed the horizontal 2x4's, they squished it in their pretty good. I did blown in insulation in the ceiling and that worked very well. I installed some 2x6's between the rafters in the celing before I put up the metal. That made walking around while blowing in the insulation much easier!
