TIGHT HIPS? This Wide Stance Cable Chop is a great way to give you more HIP MOBILITY long term and improve your glute activation.
The focus of this drill is to connect your feet to your hips in a way that can help to open up pelvic and hip mobility, and to build your ability to shift your hips with this new mobility, an important aspect of hip mobility that's often neglected!
The wide stance cable chop helps you:
👉🏼 Find and use your foot contacts so you'll develop a better sense of your hips and your glutes which will carry over to your other exercises in your session, immediately giving you more body awareness, mobility, and strength through legs and hips that are much more connected and working together!
👉🏼 The staggered stance (with your chop leg slightly forward) makes it easier to open up the hip in the front.
👉🏼 Using the cable like this takes tension OFF of your hips, helping you improve your hinge/deadlift form, and lengthens your glutes. If you want to build any muscle, you have to be able to LENGTHEN it first!
