Thanks for the advice in your video, I have a’95 Phazer 2 and it was stored for several years with the fuel in it. I followed the instructions and I managed to rebuild the carbs and take the airbox out and reinstall it 4 times! I had a couple of bad o rings in the rebuild kit and it leaked like crazy. I got some good ones and replaced them after finding out what was going on.

Definitely install that fuel cutoff valve

@@ADDvanced yeah I think I will do that, the fuel line is not really as tight as I think it should be, I will have to get some from Yamaha. I’m really getting good at taking the damn airbox out!🤣

@@misterpetals I used generic stuff without issue, I like the blueish clear stuff best.

Remove the secondary then the snorkel and it’ll take you ten minutes going that route, without the factory air box you’ll end up burning it up, there’s a lean spot at the mid range on phazer’d.
@mercmarc2 жыл бұрын
Yamaha makes the airboxes difficult to remove to discourage working on or modifying the carbs. Ive had Kuni filters on my phazers for years. Run fine. Easy to service.

I also like the phaser I have an old one

I have an 93 exciter, same thing, I took off the clamps from airbox and carb manifolds, leave them off when reassemble.
@ronlamaster93013 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is such a thing of "to much air" lol The carbs will only take in what the can! As for the carbs, would unbolting the manifolds from the cylinders help, they didn't look as they where studded?

I just watched a video of a guy doing this on phazer 1, He took air box out first, and the carbs seemed to come right out after that. Same set up phazer 1 vs 2? Also did you end up putting air filters on or air box back on? Thanks!

Push the carb boots back away and down until they clear the carbs for easy removal.
@ADDvanced3 жыл бұрын
They're sort of stiff
@JoeRocket-sf6qs2 жыл бұрын
If they real stiff use a flat screwdriver to pry em off and then replace em,eBay is a good source of parts I use them alot.i have two running phazers and a parts sled out behind the shed to lol I like these machines,alot of fun and very reliable.

I also put pod filters on one because the air box was driving me nuts I will let you know how that works out if we get any snow to use em this year.east coast and central N.L not blessed with much snow this winter yet anyway.(Canada)

You know how hot your Phazer clutches get? Mine get really hot, especially the primary inner sheave. This can't be normal?
@ADDvanced2 жыл бұрын
Pretty hot. Belt gets hot too.

Air pods dont work that go on sled I have tryed it .the problem is when you hit some powder snow it will work its way in the pods an carbs start to freeze up.an airbox is also called air Silencer . You'll find out that reason if you put pods on .👍👍

I wonder if you could put a deflector on them or something to prevent that

Push Airbox back and pull the boots out then the carbs can come out, yea it sucks, lay the carbs face down on a flat table to see if there twisted to fix the e throttle plates being out of whack, obviously add some longer fuel lines and a shutoff, the whole design is stupid
@ADDvanced3 жыл бұрын
Is there seriously no factory fuel shutoff?
@YammiePro3 жыл бұрын
@@ADDvanced no ,exciter have em though, I used to pull the line off by the top of the gas tank then I just put a shutoff there,
@ADDvanced3 жыл бұрын
@@YammiePro That's insane. Fuel shutoffs keep the carbs clean; run them dry in the spring and htey're good to go in the winter!
