Widescreen on OG Xbox - It's WEIRD

The Widescreen type is called Anamorphic Widescreen, basically TVs at the time 16:9 Mode Streched the image to that aspect ratio, so stuff was just squished in 4:3 when that mode was on. This is also how games like Rayman 3 Gamecube or Rayman 2 Dreamcast did widescreen even tough the systems didn't support it.

I'm aware of the term, I mention it in the video actually. Didn't know that Widescreen CRTs auto-stretched the image, explains why a TV setting needs to be used on more modern displays. Still don't get why certain games used the cropped method though.

I actually missed a couple of fruits in Pac-Man World especially on the Haunted Boardwalk level because of the cropped image, I think sticking with 4:3 is the better option for this game.

Xbox widescreen can be weird for sure! I think I might get my hands on a modded Original Xbox with the full game list built-in as it has neat in-game 5.1 audio and resolutions options that are still relevant/compatible on HD and 4K TVs unlike PS2 and GameCube with some 240p games. Might save the GameCube for 2nd place and PS2 for 3rd place. I know you recommended Pac-Man World 2 on GameCube over Xbox, but 1. The screentearing and changes doesn't bother me 2. I need that 5.1 Dolby Digital and progressive scan and 3. I honestly hate going all-over place with where I play my games. Exclusives and canceled ports I understand, but going let say the first game from a series on Xbox then the sequel on GameCube rubs me the wrong way. Also gives me a massive headache so I prefer just getting most of the stuff on hardware I prefer or familiar with. Example: Xbox Series X may give BC games Auto HDR, FPS Boost and other enhancements, I still prefer buying games on PS4 and PS5 out of the two consoles.

2:31 unless you use a high Def cable. Also the widescreen setting in the dashboard makes the games wide

I use the Pound HDMI Cable with my Xbox and this isn't the case.
