Maybe but Penrith has an army of young talent at its disposal. As long as Cleary is HB and when those young group of kids start coming through into 1st grade they'll always challenge for the comp. Teams would kill to have the talent pool and strong junior league Penrith have.

Penrith and Parra have been in the comp for nearly 60 years. GWS have been in the AFL for 11 years and are competing in the NRL heart land.......Jesus of course the NRL should win that battle......It's like "Who would win a Rugby Union match between Venezuela and the All Blacks?" But when it comes to membership numbers, GWS (32 600) have more than all NRL clubs (except Storm 40 000) That's impressive.

Memberships are an AFL cultural thing that is not really an NRL tradition. I've been a passionate NRL fan for nearly 60 years, but I have no idea what a membership means or why I'd want one. The AFL promotes memberships, so boasting about the number of members is something that code is welcome to. They clearly don't translate into real interest, since the average home attendance for the Giants games this year was about 9,000, meaning that the bulk of the 32,000 members aren't that interested. Giants home crowds have been in decline for years, they were 13,000 a match five years ago, 12,000 the year after, now down to 9,000. The AFL knows it has wasted hundreds of millions, all because it collectively suffers from little man syndrome.

Well, for me, the salary cap can also be a spoiler, as the Panthers are a close knit team, many of whom have come up together over the years, & when there's loyalty involved, I & many others dislike the forced transfers from a playing group who want to stay put playing together.

I actually think kikau leaving could be a positive, Luai only ever looks for him rather than eyes up sometimes. He's better than that, a few clever lines from garner could be a good fit

Kikau is an essential piece of the puzzle. You have someone who punches holes and takes up bodies then you have 2 options: Choose that or spread the ball wide into space/gaps. It's that simple imo.

Why don't they talk about the real issues in League? Like how the NRL allow as many players as a team wants to stand by the side of the play the ball on the last tackle to block the opposing teams from putting pressure on the kickers. Its a blight on the game.

Probably a tacit compliance by ALL teams to protect kickers. Ie your kicker does not get smashed nor does ours because of the body-position off balance in the tackle being too open to injury. It seems a good non-rule to me in all honesty saving on needing an official rule. makes sense. Not entirely sure you've thought about league in any depth if that's your "real issues in League" belief, tbh.
