The bike challenge seems impossible to me. 26 letters for 4 people is almost 7 per person. And they only have 20 minutes, which means each person needs to place a correct letter every 3 minutes. They don't know which end is the beginning and which is the end. AND one person is purposefully throwing it off, essentially meaning each person needs to do 9 letters in 20 minutes AND fix the mistakes of the mole. All while trusting that each person did their section correctly.

Still a lot of people don't seem to understand the game. It's not only about who voted for who. It's about the amount of questions you have answered right. Few years ago somebody was in the final and never voted on the actual mole in the whole season. But that person had many answers right because his/her mole did a lot of commands with the actual mole and shared a room with the actual mole so a lot of his/her answers where right. That person had no idea!! That happens every year. Sometimes you're just Lucky without knowing for a long time who the actual mole is.

If I was Diederik, I would have guessed yellow immediately after red and blue were called and I was wearing green. Logically, it'd probably be the third primary color. It's a pretty solid gamble.

What an interesting episode! . . . . . . . . . . . . I really think that Thomas is the mole, on the second challenge he probably hid the "flown" polaroid inside his pocket. When Sanne wanted to check his pocket Thomas suddenly puts his hand on his pocket too as if he wants to hide something. Thomas also didn't really help guessing the adverbs in the end (Sanne seems to do all the guessing). On the third challenge it also makes sense for the mole to be one of the people who started moving first since he has no obligation to get the exemption whatsoever. And then on 55:13 Thomas fades in to the scene as if he was saying that "I am the mole" since the mole logo is shown clearly on the laptop. I know that the logo always appears on the test, but how Thomas faded in makes me think that it is a clue (I might be overthinking though). Also, looks like the show's crews really love increasing suspense on the audience hehe. On old seasons the mole was already known on episode 9, then they moved the reveal to episode 10. And now this is the first time that the finalists aren't known yet on episode 8. I'm not against this, but I just find it really "uugghh..." :d I'm also wondering if there will be any "rewind" on the reveal in episode 10 (like previous seasons) since it looks like there is no way to do that (not like season 16 where episode 1 starts with Art talking to the mole so it's obvious that a rewind will happen).

Thank you again! :) I hate when no one goes home ;P. Really like this season. My fav WIDM since 2013. I have tunnel vision that it's Thomas however I feel like he has the shortes airtime compering to the others. He is a little bit outshined by the stronger personalities. I feel like his sabotages are very subtle like auction challenge. If it's not him then it must be Johem. If it's Sanne then I don't get this at all :P Can;t wait for the final episode :)

Ugh! Why did they have to end it like that haha. I was expecting the results! Jochem, aka the black widower, remains my main suspect since episode 3. Sanne is my next suspect and could be a brilliant mole if it's her eventually. Their bond is one of the best and funniest that I've seen on the show, especially with Sanne not really trusting him. Thomas is the least I suspect and I really hope he's out this time, because the thought of him flying under the radar the whole time and being revealed as the mole - It would freak me out. Every episode reminds me why I love this show so much and I hope to get it right this time. Thanks for translating! :)

Thanks again! . . . . . . . . Is it just me, or was the first challenge destined for failure? I thought it was an impossible task unless your group seriously had a complete plan worked out on the spot. The second challenge was fun, I actually don't recognize most of those idioms despite being American lol. Oops. The third challenge... ugh, I really do not like exemptions for the finale. I understand that it's tradition now, but I feel like you should know who the Mole is to be in the finale. I understand the reasoning behind it though - the finale can be a lot more exciting and confusing if you have finalists who all suspect different people, like it seems will be the case again this season (and in S14) It looks like finally, Jochem and Sanne figured out who the Mole could be... I still find it amazing no one in the game suspected Thomas until now, but his personality makes it pretty easy for him to be nondescript. Thomas is definitely the Mole to me, with the only other possibility being Jochem (which is just wishful thinking at this point, since I've found Jochem's sabotage to be more entertaining). Sanne will definitely end up as the winner if Jochem is the Mole, and has a high chance if Thomas is. Still, I'm super impressed by the producers... they really know how to make effective cliffhangers!!

But do remind that if a candidate suspects the real mole it still makes them vulnerable, they still have to figure out details that they might not have looked into deeply enough, only knowing who the mole might be is like 1/20 of the whole process. It doesn't mean you will win automatically, but we will see what the results are in the next episode...

+Joost Schutte It's possible that some of the answers to the questions they selected also applied to Thomas (Ex: Was the Mole in the car during the hot-air balloon mission? Diederik, who went for Sanne, probably answered yes to this question, but Thomas and Jochem were in the car too) This might explain why they are still in the game. There have been seasons where people truly do not know who the Mole is going into the final episode but either made it due to the situation above, or by taking the quiz faster on a tie, or just by luck. We also never know how someone answered the questions on their test exactly, so even if they said they suspected Thomas, they may not have voted for him on any questions for the test. I briefly went through the testimonies every contestant gives as they are taking the test each episode, and so far there seems to be only six or seven times Thomas was mentioned as a possible suspect: Episode 1: Vincent and Sanne both list him in their suspect lists. Vincent may not have spread according to what he said and went fully on someone, or he was just unlucky. No one said that they suspected Thomas in episodes 2, 3, and 4. Episode 5: Sanne thinks the Mole is a man, which means she probably voted for Jochem, Diederik, and Thomas. She did not mention Thomas specifically however. No one else mentioned Thomas either. Episode 6: Sanne puts 3 questions on Thomas, 5 on Diederik, and 12 on Jochem. (However, this contradicts what she said in Episode 7's confessional, where she said she put 100% on Jochem except for 1 or 2 questions on Thomas. This kinda supports my point that the way a contestant answers the quiz may be different from their confessionals.) Jochem asks himself if the Mole is Sanne or Thomas, but this may just be him giving names as possible suspects. Episode 7: Sanne said that she wonders if she got a green screen for the 1 or 2 questions she put on Thomas last episode, and seems to suggest that she is going to vote more for Thomas this test. Episode 8: Sanne says that she considers Thomas a potential Mole along with Jochem. The only person who was executed who suspected Thomas was Vincent. No one else who has been executed seem to have suspected Thomas, and Sanne is the only one so far who seems to have suspected Thomas at all, and has continued to do so since possibly episode 1. But even more curiously, Thomas suspected Sanne since Episode 3, and has seemed to go consistently on Sanne ever since. All of his other suspects bar Diederik have been executed. Usually, I would think that the Mole will suspect the person who they think suspects him/her the most, since it is likely that since that person is on their tail, they will go to the finale. Thus, if they suspect that contestant, it will make for a more interesting finale. What is even more interesting is that in Episodes 7 and 8, Thomas says he suspects Sanne as usual, but also Jochem, who he never said he suspected until then. If he is the Mole, this would be the safest two to suspect, since Sanne suspects him and he thinks Diederik will be executed before the finale (this makes even more sense in episode 8, since Jochem is already in the finale, so it would be even safer to suspect him compared to Diederik). This is also why I think Sanne will end up as the winner since she presumably has more info on him due to suspected him the longest, and will be able to answer more questions than the other finalist (of which will have to be Jochem in this situation, and he has said that he only knows Thomas is from Belgium jokingly). As to why I suspect Thomas however, it's more because of his sabotage rather than about whether or not people suspect/don't suspect him. I suspected him particularly since episode 4, where he consistently bid high at the auction. He hadn't done much sabotage until then, but he didn't have to since he could drain the pot entirely through that one mission alone. Ever since he has done little but direct acts of sabotage. Sorry for the super long comment, I sort of went overboard having fun going back to the previous few episodes to do a bit more research on why I think Thomas is the Mole! :) Also, thanks for the reminder that those idioms were Dutch, that makes much more sense, haha. Still cool to see some idioms that I did recognize though!

heliotropei I also think Thomas is the Mole, and I think that conversation between Sanne and Jochem really cemented it for me, but we can't know for sure until that elimination. It seems like too many people have gone voting for Diedrik for him to be the mole, but I guess Sanne and Jochem could be possible. Between getting lassoed at the last moment and running up the bids at the auction, Thomas seems to have the best sabotages.

The only flaw with this, though, is that prior to the auction the contestants had to say how much the jokers were worth to them and Thomas said 2000. This made it harder to sabotage because it meant they had more money to spend. Why would the mole say 2000 especially when NO ONE was around to see what they said? If his plan was to truly drain the pot during that challenge, then he would have said a much lower amount (which Sanne & Jochem both did).

I'm pretty sure Thomas can't be the Mole. Vincent voted for him the first quiz and got eliminated, while other people didn't vote for Thomas and they stayed in the game. If Vincent didn't tell the other contestants that he voted for Thomas-which is understandable, since he didn't stay in the game very long-that would explain why the other contestants are still considering Thomas. So the Mole can't be Thomas, and because Ima got eliminated, it can't be Diederik either. My personal theory is that they didn't reveal the elimination in this episode because most people are voting for Thomas on the Mole app, and he's about to be eliminated (that's just a guess, though). That just leaves Sanne and Jochem to be the Mole. Sanne has stayed and she voted for Jochem, and Jochem has stayed even though he's been voting for someone who definitely isn't the Mole. That means it's more likely that Jochem is the Mole, although it is possible that Sanne is the Mole and Jochem has been getting second-worst every elimination. But I've seen far more evidence of sabotage from Jochem than from Sanne. Sanne seems to add money to the pot while Jochem seems to make it disappear (the poster challenge, the courtroom challenge, the hill challenge, etc.). I'm still going with Jochem.

Tomorrow is the 'finale' where they'll show who got cut this last episode and do a few more games with Jochem and the two other finalists. And then next week is the live reveal so they'll show who won, lost and is the mole.

Thanks Marieke once again! Spoilers below. * * * * I think the eliminated player is probably Diedrik, but it could be Thomas if he's not the Mole either. If that's the case, the Mole is Jochem, who's really played on his contestant "persona" - an interesting tactic, especially after last season. To give him credit, I thought he was the "too suspicious guy who ends up making it far into the game" and not the actual Mole for most of the season. He's had so many overtly suspicious moments. Maybe the producers thought people wouldn't suspect an "overt Mole". If that's the case it seems to have succeeded, because I thought he was a contestant and Immanuelle or Thomas was the actual Mole for most of the season. * The first challenge was another case of "great setting, dull challenge". The most awesome / thematic thing that they could do with that awesome landscape was have the contestants rearrange a few letters? Also did anybody else think that game was basically unwinnable? I liked the second challenge although I didn't actually recognise most of the phrases, so there was a bit of a case of "lost in translation" there. The third challenge was a lot more tense and "epic", but it's really frustrating to me that three of the most interesting challenges this series have had no money prize attached to them. If Thomas actually is the Mole, which seems like a good possibility right now, he didn't take part in a single challenge that could win money for the group in the first episode. That's ridiculous. * No elimination... and they had to really, really draw this episode out to get enough stuff to fill it. Episodes 2 and 3 are still the best of this season so far. Does anybody know where you can get the viewing figures of this season on an episode-by-episode basis? I can only find figures for each season as a whole, not for individual episodes.
