@@bourbonbill compared to these absurd secondary market prices for subpar Buffalo trace. I will say the makers private select “dipped donuts - 407” is my favorite bourbon I’ve had. So much so I’ve purchased 6 bottles sourced from various places lol

Great review BB. I am catching up on episodes that I missed. I have the Widow Jane 10 Year and Decadence. The WJ 10 year is good and the Decadence is the “smoothest” tasting dessert tasting bourbon I have ever drank.

Oh yeah I love the decadence. Still have a decadence and a 13yr on my shelf but my new favorite from them is the 10yr anniversary bottle at 100 proof I think that’s the best thing they do besides the really expensive vault releases

I got the 10 year and Decadence. I’ll have to run down the 13 year. Is it worth the price in your opinion? $115.

So since I filmed this awhile ago I’ve come to the conclusion the 10yr anniversary bottle copper label at 100 proof is the best easily of any of them except the really expensive vault series. The Anniversary was 100 msrp track that down if you can the higher proof beats all. That being said if you can’t find that the 13 to me was better than the 10 and the decadence is delicious but it’s sweet I paid 100 2 yrs ago for the 13 so 115 ain’t bad today if you don’t mind paying the widow Jane premium

I teally like widow 10. But at 70 plus dollars now in pa its so not worth it. I can travel to jersey and still get tin cup 10 for 45 to 50. I can still get eagle rare for under 40 in pa

Yeah pricing has gone up unfortunately. I prefer widow jane 10 to Eagle Rare but the point is still one is 35ish and one is 70. The only thing you could argue is that widow jane is usually more available.

I love Widow Jane and live near the water source. All of the water in the area is high in limestone, like Kentucky.

The lucky 13 is really good if it’s around 100 that’s a decent one to grab. If you can find the 10yr anniversary though go with that over the others

@@bourbonbill lucky 13 is $88 at Total Wine. 10 year is $69 - but I don’t think it’s the ‘10 year anniversary’ AND I have a yuge sweet tooth- don’t care about the doll hairs , just want the best juice. Thanks

@@thurstonhowell-3 no that’s too much. Decadence was like 90 and lucky 13 was 100 in pa last year so if you found lucky 13 for 88 pay that or less for decadence

Per the 10 year - Save your $. This is one to pass on. Lacks complexity and depth and due to new oak barrel aging , is very oak forward with a bitter tannic aftertaste. Mine as well suck on a piece of oak wood as you drink your whisky. Def not worth the hype or price.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one. I like oak so yes if people don’t like as much oak the widow Jane series probably isn’t for them. But all bourbon is aged in new oak barrels so not sure of what you meant with that part

I have the 10 year and sorry, I am not impressed. For the money, I expect better. It's too alcohol hot for me, I cant taste any flavor notes at all, only burn ☹☹

Sorry to hear you didn’t like it. I’ve enjoyed the bottles I’ve had and being low proof it never came off as astringent to me. Perhaps you don’t like the George dickel component that’s in there
