I watched the Netflix (US) Mole. I think they did an admirable job, just WIDM's production wisdom over 22 seasons is obvious with just how rich and interesting the gameplay and cinematography is. Eternally grateful for your help with making this accessible to us.

That cinematography at the beginning was stunning! 😁And the locations in the first few days were very beautiful too. I'm a bit underwhelmed by the assignments so far, but we'll see if they get more interesting as the season goes on. I like the contestants! Thanks for subtitling, Marieke!

Thanks a ton! Love starting off the new year with WIDM! Fun fact I noticed on a rewatch: the first challenge has a potential to earn a max of 1500 euro. Team take trumps succeeds on every challenge and yet only earns 1400 euro. Jokers conveniently cost 200 euro a piece. If they had earned 1500, they would have had an extra 100 euro note which would have had a hint to the mole's identity...I think the mole was on team take trumps and yoinked the 100 euro at some point. Also it seems a bit unfair that even though they won (almost) all the money they still couldn't neutralize all the jokers earned. Nor do I think it's super fair that three jokers were stolen out of a locked box (even though the key shouldn't have broken in the first place I suppose)... They also did shockingly (absolutely insanely) well on the second task. Like I feel those challenges never go that well. What a competent group (mentally preparing to retract that statement in a future episode)! I think the mole had one task this episode and that was to be really good and appear as innocent as possible. First challenge was almost guaranteed to be a wash so you might as well do your best, second challenge is really hard to mole with that many eyes on you and it's just not worth the amount of money earned to appear that singularly suspicious. Third challenge you either have the best video to fool all the Netherlands, or (more likely) appear friendly, good, and innocent to your comrades and be given the exemption and 5000 euro out of the pot. A very good episode to go try hard and appear innocent to everyone right at the start while doing maximum damage to the pot. A great start all around and looking forward to a great season! Curious about the 11 contestants change up...guess we'll see what they make of that. Double elimination in our near future? Extra episode this season? Or another 4 contestant finale? 'Time will tell'! :D

I think it's super fair to steal those Jokers, to be honest. When it comes to WIDM, if you see a Joker, you can grab it- that's reinforced again and again in the other seasons with painted joker decorations counting as Jokers, stealing them right from other contestants' belongings, etc. I think it's really interesting, what you noticed about the first task! I wasn't even paying attention to that.

IMO The Mole hardly needs to do anything at all as with a large group of people there will be dissent and inevitable accidental screwing up of challenges will keep any pot relatively low

Late to start this series, but I already have a mad theory of my own... "time will tell" makes it seem the second task is key. Personally, I think this whole challenge wasn't really a challenge - it was not worth enough money and far too easy compared to similar ones before in other series. And when they showed the results, they were almost too perfect, even the contestants thought so... So if we look at it...... one clock was 17 seconds off, another was 12, and the last 4 seconds... in total? 33 SECONDS... 33? The same number as on Everon's vest for this challenge?? Hmmmmm.............. may this was the "time will tell" clue...

Thanks a lot, Marieke! I didn't liked the episode at all, but the cast looks great. The editing style for the assignments still is all over the place, NL widm always had this problem, the cinematography doesnt even try to make close ups of the challenge to make a solid storytelling of what is happening, its almost as every cameraman is scattered with no direction on place, and the editing team is to lazy to insert any kind of explanation of what is going on. (Not that it is impossible to understand, its just that is not good storytelling at all just showing people running and doing arbitrary stuff). Everything is kinda of confuse and the thing with the jokers just didn't made any sense. They got the jokers without finishing properly the task, and then proceed to hide it from everyone when it looks like the assignment require everyone show what they got. Its just unclear how the rules could be handled, and with this, become a major game breaker.

Add the time up that they “stopped the clock “ ….12+17+4=33 3. 33 is the number for a basketball player With a last name Bird… The country’s flag is of a bird… Double head eagle. Two heads is kind of like a duplicitous meaning. Without saying the persons name you could probably figure out who I’m talking about I got all of this from episode one… “I’m Proud” I believe I have solve this mystery
