The best, the most impressive and by far the most beloved of me, the violin works. It's a feeling in your chest when you're short of breath, your throat grows and tears flow into your eyes. This is music. This is beauty.

I think this very well may be the single greatest violin showpiece of the 19th century. Kogan's smooth, buttery, and powerful playing has the perfect balance of sweetness and richness. The harmonics kill me every time I hear them. The purity, it's like an angel calling. Or the devil.

It is obviously Kogan. Some nice playing there :D

Ricci always has more air in his tone (more spread out high overtones) and is more even in sound across the strings and positions. Kogan has a more focused sound and doesn't hide the difference in sound the different strings/positions makes. He rather seems to like it :) So this IS Kogan ;)

Be aware future musicians. When there's "brillante" in the title, it means hell difficult for player 😂😂

What tuning is this in? The low A at the beginning is ~113hertz instead of 110. Or is this just normal for orchestra because they tune to the hardest instrument? Normally historical tunings are lower and not higher. (1865 is possible that they chose a bit higher key at that point in time, but even then lower is more likely.) I tuned my electric piano to 113 so I could play along.
@creedstump06622 жыл бұрын
a lot of old recordings i hear are tuned higher. it could be the audio being slightly distorted or maybe they just liked it that way. either way, it sounds nice
