Marriage is nothing more than a financial, contract between 2 people. Equating romance, love, lust with marriage is what makes people get married and divorced multiple times. Throughout history, those 2 functions were separate and only puritains made it something it was never supposed to be. One person cannot be everything for their partner. It's ridiculous to think it can.

I wouldn't say it's automatically over. My best friend cheated on his wife in year 2 of their marriage. He called me the day after it happened, and I had never heard him that emotionally distraught. He was so disappointed in himself and confessed to her and their Pastor immediately. They went through counseling at their church for a good period. That was 21 years ago, and they've been great since. However, some people, like this woman, do not care when they cheat or lie. She's been willfully leading a double life. She's unremorseful and unrepentant unless she gets caught. That's when I press "eject" from the marriage.

*Cheaters are all the same regardless of gender. A cheater does not care about you, your thoughts, opinions, ideas or feelings regarding their conscious decisions to betray you. Cheaters already know that their decision to cheat could ruin the relationship and they concluded that it was totally worth risking losing the relationship. Cheaters are cowards, sneaking around living a lie, pretending to be someone else (regardless of gender).* *Cheaters should not seek monogamous relationships but we all know honesty is not a cheater’s strong suit. Seek to forgive them and no longer remain with them. Ultimately a cheater should be thankful that you’re simply letting the other person have them instead of being that whiny confrontational “why me?” person or someone who’s lame enough to actually fight with or to remain with an admitted cheater. Cheaters only thrive because the consequences of them cheating aren’t detrimental enough for people to fear being a cheater.*

My friend wrecked his new car then he got it repaired by the auto body shop. then I noticed it was gone, he had sold it. I asked him what happened to it he said he sold it. Said it just didn't drive the same. That's kind of like a relationship that loses trust. You know how it once drove and even though on the outside it looks like it's been fully prepared on the inside you know that it just doesn't drive the same. There's nothing wrong with wanting a relationship or vehicle that drives like new that hasn't been wrecked by trust

When you stay in a relationship after your wife cheats is the ultimate simp move. I understand you have kids, but your life is not over man. It’s not worth it living a horrible life just because you have kids. That’s not what having kids mean. You have to leave your wife so therefore you can have mental peace. Your kids will understand and they will have there own life to live. Everybody has one life to live and make sure you live it to the fullest!

This hits really close to my heart. Same boat, so hard to give up on someone and to fight for yourself again. Owning your own faults is one thing but taking all of the blame for her actions is crazy. Hardest worst thing I've ever been though. I will always be the constant parent in my kids life. Fighting for myself is hard but its also not allowing me to be a door mat provider for a selfish women anymore.

Sadly it sounds as if the ship already sailed on this relationship. He needs self love and independence. Hard for the horse to run again after a leg has been broken. He sounds like the kind of guy that plenty of women would love to date and his past will only make him a much better partner when he is ready. And, if you chose to move on it's not a failure.

Depends on the heart of someone after they cheat. It's possible to repent, to repair and to build something else together if both are willing. Other factors to consider are loving your family, loving the other person, being committed... it's not always about someones own self.

Handled completely wrong. Dude, you gaslit him. She cheated on him several times. I'm all for forgiving myself for allowing that to happen, so that I can move on, but having a serious conversation with her is pointless. She doesn't respect him, if she did, she wouldn't be having sex with other men as a married woman. Sounds like she doesn't want to lose the security of the relationship, but the moment Chad or Tyrone give her tingles, she's on her back with her panties around her ankles and ankles near her ears. She's not wife material. He needs to get out. The vision of marriage the kids will have is this, I should know, I saw it first hand. Trying to keep a man with his cheating wife is making him more beta than he already is. He needs to get self respect, self esteem and self worth, without them, no woman will see any value. Move on dude, she's not worth any effort. Get a divorce, figure out custody and child support, pay the alimony have to, but while your doing all of the BS, she's gone for your life as a partner and wife. Be single for a while, get a hobby, get into the gym, make yourself feel good. She has made her bed, now she can lay in it. If my wife did 1% of the BS yours did, she'd be a single mom real quick.

I dated someone from 19-25 6 years of dating and constant cheating. What I learned from this early mistake in my life was that people can change, but their traits don't. I am so grateful to have gained this wisdom at 25 years old.
