correction (full douchiness implied😆) she admits herself that she thrives when Bert is gone on tour. that's when she gets her shit done, and her piece of mind, and her sanity, and all the rest. she said she spends the entire time he's home cleaning up behind him.... when it's just her and the kids it's serene she says. she loves him, but he needs his time away from the family on the bus (his words) and she needs that same time (him being gone) just as bad.😆

I really liked this podcast. I don’t know why, but it really resonated with me. It makes Bert seem so human. He’s talked about struggling before, but I related so much to the way he thinks. I struggle with depression, anxiety, and ocd, and not that I want anyone else to struggle but I’m happy to not feel so alone. My husband and I can’t wait to see the special when it comes out! We we bought tickets for the Nashville show at the Ryman June 2021, and ended up not being able to afford the tickets/hotel because of the world right now. Fingers crossed he tells some of those jokes!! Thank you two for being a light, and being real and raw with your audience! We all appreciate you!

“What are you gonna do, beat the f*ck out of yourself because you ate wings?” Leeann that line had me dead. I 100% spoke to all of my exes like this, and it’s a sure-fire way to weed out the weak ones. They loved it in the beginning, then they all got tired, ha. Last one literally said, “I’m exhausted,” as he left. I understand now, tbh. My career heated up big time post the last break up, and now it matches the careers of the men I used to date. Sometimes you just want to CHILL, the day was LONG, and you don’t have anything left for an intense and emotional conversation. Leeann gets so much COMPLETELY DESERVED credit for putting up with Bert, but quick shoutout to Bert too, because to share a life with Leeann, I have to imagine that it must take a man who isn’t afraid to be honest with himself and grow.

Bert, I'm a big fan, I just started stand up a couple months ago and am loving it, and I wanted to let you know that not all of your fans are assholes who want you to fail. I'm always rooting for you and celebrating your success. I think you're a genuine guy who shares a lot and is vulnerable a lot, and that's going to get you a lot of haters because people are insecure. But for a lot of us, it's really inspiring and makes us believe that we can all find true joy in life and hold onto it, because we're all a bit fucked up too. Everyone is flawed and that's okay; that's what makes us beautiful. I like listening to live music because I love hearing the singer's voice be slightly flat at times; that's what gives it meaning: the fact that it is real and raw and full of emotion. Okay I'm starting to really ramble with this comment, but I guess I just wanted to thank you for being you and to encourage you to keep doing it. LeeAnn, I'm also a big fan of yours. Whenever I listen to this podcast, it feels like therapy to me. I also struggle with anxiety quite a bit like Bert, and I find your way of acknowledging feelings but not letting them run the show to be something I really need to hear about. I honestly should probably actually start seeing a real therapist, but in the meantime, you have really helped me, and I genuinely mean that. Your daughters are so lucky to have you two as parents. Keep doing what you're doing. You guys are for real changing lives, even if you don't hear from us all the time. Much love from your real fan, Zach Metzler.

Bert, I love you! You are a sweet, beautiful human! You didn't overshare at all. Your vulnerability helped me and I'm grateful to you! Please know that healthy, happy people don't go out of their way to hurt people or leave nasty comments. Those people trying to hurt you and bring you down are not happy in their lives. The negativity isn't really about you. It's about them and their pain and sadness and anger. Really try to rewire your brain to focus and only let in the positive. And know that if the comment about you isn't true, they are just reaching and using you as a punching bag. You are a sweet, empathetic human who tries every day. People who aren't putting in the work on themselves don't deserve to have a say or impact in your life. Sending you so much love! (P.S. Lesbian here. Not hitting on you and zero alternative motive other than to give you some love! ✌️💗😘)

I used to judge Bert fairly harshly when 2 bears was the only podcast I watched regularly that Bert was a part of, and after watching the episodes of WotP with Bert I realized he and I are a lot more alike than I would’ve thought. I’m sorry for judging you Bert. We are both excessive overthinkers and worriers, and a result of that is over explaining things and a tendency to ramble to try and make sure people understand where you’re coming from. I know that’s not uncommon, but it’s reassuring to see even the most successful people are still just people. Good luck with everything Bert and Leeann, I love the episodes with you two.

I lost my youngest son age 18 on 7/11/2020 he passed away during a seizure. My middle son came home from college for Thanksgiving in 2018 and he had a seizure. So he moved home and the both had medication resistant epilepsy. On 1/26/2022 he also passed away during a seizure. Bert, I know you wont read this but I am compelled to say your insight to say what did about not losing anyone close to you shows what a compasionate person you are. I also have anxiety and can very much relate to the things you say about it. I also have a 13 year old daughter who has is dealing with anxiety as they were her best friends. I wouldn't be able to understand what she is going through if I did not have it. You never know who is listening and who you may be helping by talking about it. I have to say you are blessed to have a wife who really tries and does understand you because so many people who have not experienced anxiety want to dismiss it as something you can just snap out of not have.

BERT, the clean thing is more than a habit. I relate so much to your brain. It's a practice in stopping your triggers that make your anxiety and other shit stop from spiraling. ADHD, and speaking from experience. You'll start learning a lot about your brain when you work on that. The messes happen because we're not fully present.

Bert: “I think my brain looks for things to hurt me at times.” Leeann: “You think your brain is punitive with you?” Hahhaha what Leann is (unintentionally?) doing with Bert here is the best way to teach children new words, rephrasing what they said using the new, bigger word. Dead. 💀
