There must be one woman on earth who could deal with Bert full time, and not only does that one person exist, but Bert actually found her and married.

correction (full douchiness implied😆) she admits herself that she thrives when Bert is gone on tour. that's when she gets her shit done, and her piece of mind, and her sanity, and all the rest. she said she spends the entire time he's home cleaning up behind him.... when it's just her and the kids it's serene she says. she loves him, but he needs his time away from the family on the bus (his words) and she needs that same time (him being gone) just as bad.😆

Bert was so anxious and had such a heavy head, but after talking to Leanne you can see his spirit lift and feel calm. I loved how he gave you those little head kisses in the beginning too, so cute. The love you have for both one another is so sweet. Makes me happy :)

I really liked this podcast. I don’t know why, but it really resonated with me. It makes Bert seem so human. He’s talked about struggling before, but I related so much to the way he thinks. I struggle with depression, anxiety, and ocd, and not that I want anyone else to struggle but I’m happy to not feel so alone. My husband and I can’t wait to see the special when it comes out! We we bought tickets for the Nashville show at the Ryman June 2021, and ended up not being able to afford the tickets/hotel because of the world right now. Fingers crossed he tells some of those jokes!! Thank you two for being a light, and being real and raw with your audience! We all appreciate you!

I always hypothesized Bert took his shirt off because the most at ease, confident, and his most content feelings have been times his shirt was off. BBQ's, swimming, sunshine on the skin. Thank you for showing a complex marriage where two people want self improvement and are learning how to communicate better as often as possible☀

“What are you gonna do, beat the f*ck out of yourself because you ate wings?” Leeann that line had me dead. I 100% spoke to all of my exes like this, and it’s a sure-fire way to weed out the weak ones. They loved it in the beginning, then they all got tired, ha. Last one literally said, “I’m exhausted,” as he left. I understand now, tbh. My career heated up big time post the last break up, and now it matches the careers of the men I used to date. Sometimes you just want to CHILL, the day was LONG, and you don’t have anything left for an intense and emotional conversation. Leeann gets so much COMPLETELY DESERVED credit for putting up with Bert, but quick shoutout to Bert too, because to share a life with Leeann, I have to imagine that it must take a man who isn’t afraid to be honest with himself and grow.

8 minutes in and Leanne you are already a super wife. You understand Bert to a level I've not seen someone understand and articulate ever... (United it's a therapist haha) This is helping me understand myself just you hyper analysing him. I can also see how much you guys care for each other because Bert is not defensive AT ALL with your feedback and clearly knows how much you love him. I could be wrong lol only 8 minutes in and my first wotp podcast. Cheers, Sam

Bert, I'm a big fan, I just started stand up a couple months ago and am loving it, and I wanted to let you know that not all of your fans are assholes who want you to fail. I'm always rooting for you and celebrating your success. I think you're a genuine guy who shares a lot and is vulnerable a lot, and that's going to get you a lot of haters because people are insecure. But for a lot of us, it's really inspiring and makes us believe that we can all find true joy in life and hold onto it, because we're all a bit fucked up too. Everyone is flawed and that's okay; that's what makes us beautiful. I like listening to live music because I love hearing the singer's voice be slightly flat at times; that's what gives it meaning: the fact that it is real and raw and full of emotion. Okay I'm starting to really ramble with this comment, but I guess I just wanted to thank you for being you and to encourage you to keep doing it. LeeAnn, I'm also a big fan of yours. Whenever I listen to this podcast, it feels like therapy to me. I also struggle with anxiety quite a bit like Bert, and I find your way of acknowledging feelings but not letting them run the show to be something I really need to hear about. I honestly should probably actually start seeing a real therapist, but in the meantime, you have really helped me, and I genuinely mean that. Your daughters are so lucky to have you two as parents. Keep doing what you're doing. You guys are for real changing lives, even if you don't hear from us all the time. Much love from your real fan, Zach Metzler.

I love you LeeAnn. Your podcast is a breath of fresh air. Plus you and Bert remind me of me and my husband. My husband is the logical person, he's good with money and I'm more of the dreamer, catastrophrizer. The gratefulness journal sounds like a great idea. Plus LeeAnn you, and some other podcasts have talked about therapy. So tomorrow is therapy for me with a new therapist. Much love for you.❤️

I have no idea who either of you are, only because I'm not really into stand up comedy or podcasts. I saw a reel or whatever they're called about how your husband really loves you, so I Google him and 'wife' and then I watch this video. Wow wee, what a lovely accident that was. In such a short space of time I went through so many emotions and realisations. I'm not great with words, but thank you for doing whatever it was to lead you to be sat down and recording your conversations. It's don't a lot of good for someone who is very deeply sad x

Bert drinks at 9am on 2B1C every week AND ALSO every day he has a hangover on the road or at home. No misconceptions about it. Him feeling frustrated when people (who might care) begin to worry is because he can’t hide the effects anymore. He’s in the Vegas Death Pool for crying out loud. Stay alive Bert.

Bert, I love you! You are a sweet, beautiful human! You didn't overshare at all. Your vulnerability helped me and I'm grateful to you! Please know that healthy, happy people don't go out of their way to hurt people or leave nasty comments. Those people trying to hurt you and bring you down are not happy in their lives. The negativity isn't really about you. It's about them and their pain and sadness and anger. Really try to rewire your brain to focus and only let in the positive. And know that if the comment about you isn't true, they are just reaching and using you as a punching bag. You are a sweet, empathetic human who tries every day. People who aren't putting in the work on themselves don't deserve to have a say or impact in your life. Sending you so much love! (P.S. Lesbian here. Not hitting on you and zero alternative motive other than to give you some love! ✌️💗😘)

Other comments were along similar lines, in my opinion... You do things that bring you comfort. We find comfort in good memories, and experiences. We then try and recreate and replicate those same comforts. His best experiences were spent shirtless because of the life he grew up in and that Carrie’s through to adulthood…

It's so hard to try to be the "perfect" person and to always keep the right mind set. So surrounding yourself by people that remind you helps. Oh goodness I really needed this laugh today, I just love you Leanne your ability to look at the light side of things and don’t take yourself or others too seriously is awesome “he’s gotta be bangin bitches everywhere…” You guys are #MarriedLifeGoals Seriously, the way that you have each other’s backs and are such a great team is really inspiring For my wife and I, we are constantly trying to put the work in to become better teammates like you guys!! Validation of each other’s feelings while being honest and truthful even when it’s hard and it would be much easier to just go along or not lie, but allowing your own feelings to be suppressed in order to avoid the confrontation. Really thank you for being so open and honest and sharing these conversations about what life is like and struggles you have because sometimes it’s just nice to know that your not alone when things get hard and don’t have the “perfect” marriage. Thanks guys really thank you 🙏🏼 💕🥰🥰🥰

I used to judge Bert fairly harshly when 2 bears was the only podcast I watched regularly that Bert was a part of, and after watching the episodes of WotP with Bert I realized he and I are a lot more alike than I would’ve thought. I’m sorry for judging you Bert. We are both excessive overthinkers and worriers, and a result of that is over explaining things and a tendency to ramble to try and make sure people understand where you’re coming from. I know that’s not uncommon, but it’s reassuring to see even the most successful people are still just people. Good luck with everything Bert and Leeann, I love the episodes with you two.

I lost my youngest son age 18 on 7/11/2020 he passed away during a seizure. My middle son came home from college for Thanksgiving in 2018 and he had a seizure. So he moved home and the both had medication resistant epilepsy. On 1/26/2022 he also passed away during a seizure. Bert, I know you wont read this but I am compelled to say your insight to say what did about not losing anyone close to you shows what a compasionate person you are. I also have anxiety and can very much relate to the things you say about it. I also have a 13 year old daughter who has is dealing with anxiety as they were her best friends. I wouldn't be able to understand what she is going through if I did not have it. You never know who is listening and who you may be helping by talking about it. I have to say you are blessed to have a wife who really tries and does understand you because so many people who have not experienced anxiety want to dismiss it as something you can just snap out of not have.

I love listening to you and Bert together, you're just so sweet and alot of the time I just want to give Bert a big hug. I get the dog thing, it's really hard as the babies get older. But I would rather have them piss me off than not have my cats around.

Look up a Bluefang collar, you’ll thank me later. I have a Doberman and this collar you can choose if it vibrates or shocks or both. The levels of each, and recognizes intruder barking from regular. I love it. It’s Bluetooth and works thru an app so no need to keep up with a remote.

BERT, the clean thing is more than a habit. I relate so much to your brain. It's a practice in stopping your triggers that make your anxiety and other shit stop from spiraling. ADHD, and speaking from experience. You'll start learning a lot about your brain when you work on that. The messes happen because we're not fully present.

Bert: “I think my brain looks for things to hurt me at times.” Leeann: “You think your brain is punitive with you?” Hahhaha what Leann is (unintentionally?) doing with Bert here is the best way to teach children new words, rephrasing what they said using the new, bigger word. Dead. 💀

And it works, Bert uses ‘punitive’ all the time in regards to himself
