Why do these people get married in the first place? What they really want is the safety net of someone to pay the bills and provide for them while they get run through by everyone else. Lets also make an important distinction, regarding open relationships and cheating: The wife cheated first and then wanted to pass it as an open relationship. I consider open relationships to be for weak willed individuals. Monogamy requires self-discipline and the will to avoid lustful intrusive thoughts. It's easy to cheat, just be a selfish asshole. It's much harder to practice temperance and other virtues.
