She left after years? What you should have done is filed for divorce using abandonment. A court would have granted you a divorce after a years. She obviously was in contact with her mom and family or the would have been filing a missing persons claim. This would have been an easy case because she wasn’t here to defend herself. It takes seven years before a person can be declared legally dead, she achieved nearly half that. Me personally I would have filed for divorce after a few months. Because unless she can prove she was kidnapped she was dead to me after a few months of no contact.

What is really screwed up is that her parents took her in. I really don’t understand why.

Cool story bro! I liked all of it except the parts you made up. Which means I didn't actually like any of it. Pro tip: With a story like this, you're supposed to also have moved into a new relationship by the end. Said new relationship is always categorically better in every way than the previous relationship. I have to grade this Creative Writing exercise as an "F," due to weak ending, as well as repetitive fluff that served no purpose other than to extend the story- "getting to read books that had been put off" twice, "the ex turned nasty" twice, et cetera. How did you know she ghosted you, and didn't get killed or something? Why didn't you get the police involved? Did you get divorced in the intervening years? How exactly was the house owned and paid for? No attention to detail, loose plot, just an all around low effort essay.

I'd have sold the house moved away i wouldn't have stayed in that house making it difficult to find me. What was she expecting. Just welcome home my lovely wife after 3 years without a word on a girls holiday
