Pro tip: With a story like this, you're supposed to also have moved into a new relationship by the end. Said new relationship is always categorically better in every way than the previous relationship. I have to grade this Creative Writing exercise as an "F," due to weak ending, as well as repetitive fluff that served no purpose other than to extend the story- "getting to read books that had been put off" twice, "the ex turned nasty" twice, et cetera.
