The govt finds way to get those child support. Any tax refund, any federal emergency aides (like the recent covid PUA.). They've also refused to issue a U.S. Passport if you owe past due child support. Who knows what other means the govt has done to force fathers who refuses to pay. I totally agree with this. Unfortunately, OP was not aware (which I blame his lawyer) to request for DNA testing to prove he's the father.

Not really, it depends on the context of the relationship. My ex is one of my best friends and it's completely platonic between her and I, and since then I've dated others and she's currently in a relationship and there isn't any bs. Almost 30 yrs (28) of law enforcement. Ive seen variations of this story many times. Usually the husbands just get increasingly screwed as every year the courts get further from common sense. In many states he will have to pay child support for a major chunk of his life even if he has DNA evidence it is not his kid. This happens most often to the decent stable types because they are the ones who will actually hold a job and try to meet their obligations while the AP is quite often the opposite. In the rush to make sure the financial burden of the child care does not fall on the government many agencies will go after the man with the money. Knowing the kid is not his. The fact that most places they make a profit on the handling fees for the child support is just an added bonus. This is why the family courts will be so ardent about going after anyone who even questions their decisions . Lost in the shuffle is the plain in simple fact that any married person who cheats is guilty of breach of contract, and emotional family violence in my opinion. However I and those like me are legally held to our oath to uphold the law regardless. Judges however are not anymore. Some just do what their ideology says to do and then stand on judicial immunity.Thus creating new case law compounding the problem. This has led to many jurisdictions now having case law and regulations that say if the wife files the paperwork right the husband will be denied any ability to be even heard in court. There's no jury trial for available for family courts.
