Guilty. Melody said on phone recording, "he wasn't supposed to burn like that"... Melody wanted Gary recognisable to get insurance monies. She hung herself with her words. If she was innocent why didn't she take the stand and say this is what really happened? She adamantly told her granddaughter she could not stay on the 4th July. Two separate receipts were shown where she bought bleach and a lot of other cleaning products. A juror said they weren't that concerned how he got on the pile; he could have been held at gun point told to walk out of house and shot at burn pile, or shot inside and bullet did not kill him instantly and he went outside for help. (Basement was not typical down stairs, but on ground level). Melody knew how to use tractor and easy to scoop him up and drive him to burn pile. She had the motive. Rusty looked up plain gold rings a week before. Melody tried to implicate her two sons and one of her daughters. I have followed this case, there were many things you left out clearly implicating Melody. It was clear to me beyond reasonable doubt Melody was guilty.

@@Antoinette14273 It's a constitutional right in the US to choose not to take the stand, no matter how innocent you may actually be. Which is why you rarely see anyone actually testify in their innocence at a trial. If you waive your right to remain silent the prosecution has the ability to ask you any questions or present any evidence to incriminate you. Which it is entirely possible there is some that may make you look guilty even if you are innocent. Prosecution has the burden of proof, and by giving them more to incriminate you on you're just helping them. This is why criminal defense attorneys will advise most people do not take the stand in their defense. You are absolutely right that it's clear this woman is guilty but not testifying in your defense is not and has never been a direct signifier of guilt.

Dr. Grande, I’m a longtime subscriber and fan, but I think you missed a lot of the facts that came to light during this trial, and refusing to stand for the jury was the least of her problems. She had a decades long history of pathological lying, numerous affairs, stealing $50,000 from the equity of their house when she left her husband to live with someone else, humiliating her husband and children by inviting her lover to her daughter’s wedding & dancing with him in front of everyone, spreading despicable lies about her husband and children to friends & family…the list is endless. And the her calls to her most recent lover (and possible accomplice) were shockingly heartless and cruel!! As terrible as she was to her husband, he gave her everything she ever wanted and even bought her the farm AFTER she took $50k, left him for another man, and came back! And her second cousin, Martha Jane Barton, was an extremely transparent and credible witness who obviously loved Melody and was devastated by what happened! Based on all of the evidence, along with her willingness to throw her own children under the bus to save herself from this murder charge goes a long way in proving that there was only two things she loved; herself and money, and she finally decided to take eliminate the husband she despised and take full control of his multi-million dollar estate! Not to mention, she didn’t show an ounce of sadness over the death of her meal ticket or over the horrible loss his death was for her children, and she was ice cold during the trial. While there was very little direct evidence, the sheer amount of circumstantial evidence was more than enough to convict her.

@PatriciaA572 It is normal for parents to buy their grown kids items, give them money, work for them and go on vacation with them. I had no issues with that because Gary didn't neglect his wife in the process. Melody had the issue with Gary being generous with his money that HE WORKED HARD FOR! She didn't lift a finger. She had everything (a normal person) could want didn't she? Except happiness within herself and her marriage. How much more could she want? (We know the answer to that!) Dr. Todd, i have followed this case for months and there aren't a lot of people who believe she is innocent their is just a few and a HUGE number of us who watched the entire trial that knows she is guilty asfm as for not standing the jury were asked and they sid, they totally didn't notice her standing up. It was only the people online that watch it that commented about her not standing NOT THE JURY.

Definitely beyond a reasonable doubt and she pointed the blame at their grieving son to everyone . All the lies, the jail phone calls, and the geo tracking . She hated Gary , had poisoned him for years and she loved money. Also I think they said that the life insurance would have been doubled for an accident. We heard her talking about that he shouldn’t have burned so much also a 2am call that he is on the fire. She made up a story about the horses being loose to lure Scott over to find the body- a monster

I followed this trial online. I’ve always thought she shot ‘at’ him the first time in the basement- either he stumbled out to get away from her & he fell on the burn pile where she shot him again (bullet in rib bone) OR she shot at him, then forced him to the burn pile by way of holding the gun on him, got him to the burn pile where she shot him again. I heard the recording where she told Rusty, her lover, the night before he became missing, that “Gary’s on the burn pile” BEFORE he was noted as being ‘missing.’ Rusty may have recanted WHEN he thought about it later- but we heard him the first time via the recording. Also, Melody said on one of the recordings, something to the effect of ‘His body should not have been burned as bad as it was.’ Also, it was pointed out that she was quite strong for her size (even helping a friend move a grand piano). It was also pointed out that she was quite a ‘clean freak’ and could’ve very easily cleaned where there could have been evidence- although she did miss some blood & the spent shell. She was a cold, callous person who tried to blame her own children and eventually turned brothers & sisters against each other. No mother with a clean conscience would want her children turning on each other to take the focus off herself.

Question - how did her calls come to be recorded?
@Freida657Ай бұрын
@@easternkiwiz I need to refresh myself by watching some of the trial again- But there were recorded conversations when the investigators had Rusty to record them without her knowledge. Then he couldn’t stand her not knowing that he was having to do that so he bought “burner phones” for them to communicate with that the investigators didn’t know about, but they still sometimes talked on the regular recorded lines. Then there were recorded conversations from the jail after she was arrested- And jailhouse calls are always recorded (unless it’s attorney/client conversations). I hope I have my information correct as I was recovering from surgery as I was listening to a lot of the trial- If I’m wrong, I apologize- I’ll try to update after I have listened to some of the trial videos again.

With the not standing thing, it feels like that is something she has decided herself "Im not standing for those guys like they are better than me" then her poor lawyer is left to cover it...poorly. Poor guy is like: Okay so she looks bad right now, just sitting there, I need to cover "Yeah, I told her to do that, she doesn't need to stand for these people, they are her peers!". He is probably wondering why he doesn't get clients anymore.
@melissaharris3389Ай бұрын
Yeah. It's better to just ignore it and pretend it's a non-issue. Hope no one calls her out or asks about it. I think the lawyer was just embarrassed by his clients behavior and knew it was disrespectful; he tried to cover it and instead put his foot in his mouth by bringing attention to her behavior.

I watched the entire trial... From the start everything points to her based on all the evidence gathered in the investigation... 1. She hated him 2. She cheated on him for many years with more than one man 3. She disrespected him bringing her lover to their daughter's wedding. 4. She said more than once she wanted him dead. 5. She lied during questioning. 6. She tried to frame Scott making him come home the night of 7. She wanted all his money 8. She asked about his capital shares the day after 9. On the night of she said to Rusty "he's in the burn pile" 10. She was furious about him paying the trip to the beach 11. She didn't want to share any money with their kids/grandkids 12. She took Martha's gun 13. She told the girls not to come over that night 14. After finding Gary she went to Wal-Mart, spent over $400 and purchased a very expensive bottle of wine to celebrate her victory. 15. Rusty got wedding rings a week before NEED I SAY MORE❓️❓️❓️ IT IS HEARTBREAKING TO THINK OF THIS NICE SUCCESSFUL DECENT MAN BEING TURN INTO ASHES 3 DAYS BEFORE HIS TRIP TO THE BEACH WITH HIS GRANDDAUGHTERS.... MELODY IS AN EVIL MONSTER AND WANTED MONEY AND FREEDOM BUT INSTEAD ALL SHE HAS NOW IS 4 EMPTY WALLS AND CHEAP PRISON FOOD..... NO FINE WINE AND NO RUSTY JUSTICE WAS SERVED FOR GARY FARRIS, HIS CHILDREN AND HIS GRANDCHILDREN.. REST IN PEACE GARY 🙏

The deleted photos from the trail cam were all restored and showed nothing of evidently value. Scott kept the memory card clear, so while searching for Gary, he reviewed the photos and saw they yielded nothing to help them find Gary. Then he cleared the card. Scott may have had mental health issues, but he loved his dad and mom, and his whole world has been flipped upside down.

Why hasn't anyone considered Gary was at the burn pile when Melody shot him. She said he was obsessed with burning stuff & almost set the house on fire. She shot him in the back & he fell into the burn pile. She put Citronella on it as an accelerant. Also, one of the forensic people testified that Gary's fat rendered in liquid just like bacon grease & that accelerated the fire. Also, the 9 days in Jamaica was at a Hedonistic resort. Nudity, swapping & swinging with Rusty. Disgusting 🤮
