Danke schoen (from Australia) - I'm really stuck between choosing an ITX vs ATX, but I think the flexibility of just adding a pcie card for wifi (and later thunderbolt) is probably the easiest option. Although both are available if you choose ITX carefully, I think stability (maintenance) is easier if seperate pcie card route is taken.
@MartinGuder4 жыл бұрын
That's for sure. I was also drawn into buidling an ITX system. In the end I decided for ATX, because I needed airflow and cooling headroom for overclocking. And that's totally worth it, as my system is able to run cool even on a high overclock for both GPU and CPU as well as the RAM.

@JohnKowalskiPhoto6 жыл бұрын
yes, ARM would be an interesting move for Apple, although I fear that would also mean that the hardware would become useless after it's discontinued as it will be all proprietary hardware, I doubt we could re-use the hardware with Linux for example to extend the life of the hardware a bit more. I secretly wish that Apple would add support for Ryzen CPUs 😉

Hello! Great video. I'd be very interested in purchasing this product for my Hackintosh. I'm wondering, though, if this device is connected to the USB 2.0 port on the motherboard, would there be speed issues? Reason I'm asking is I know that max speed for USB 2.0 is 480Mbps (in theory), however, due to protocol overhead and hardware inefficiencies, the practical max speed is closer to 320Mbps. I have a pretty fast internet connection (500Mbps download and 100Mbps upload). Wondering how this product works, in terms of speed? Much appreciated! Have a great day.

Well, that's strange. Did you tried F_USB2 and F_USB1? At least from photos online it should work. One solution would be to cut the cable and switch polarity, the other: getting rid of the plastic "thing". Or get another adapter cable, if that's possible.

That's also a reasonable approach. :) Thanks for sharing!

Dude, just go for Linux with the same hardware and without all the complexity of building a Hackintosh. Have you ever heard of ElementaryOS or DeepinOS ? The first is almost identical to MacOS and I bet that the performance gain you will have from these Linux distro will be much better than MacOS. Especially if you have an Intel CPU then check Clear OS, which is optimized for Intel chips by Intel itself. The latter is superfast, you can check the performance benchmarks on internet.

Thanks for the recommendations. Linux will live on a third SSD sometime soon. Unfortunately, Final Cut and Ableton Live don't work in Linux. ;)

Вот это да, никогда не думал что там плата.

65 Euro? Ouch, you paid way too much. It cost me about 25 Euros together for NGFF M.2 to mini PCIE adapter and BCM94360CS2 card (doesn't need any drivers) and longer pigtail antenna cable (as original one would not reach the card connector as card is higher on adapter).

It heavily depends on your location and at that time, it was one of the cheapest. It works without any hazzle, that's the most important though. :)

Martin Guder yeah, it works without a hitch. I’m from Slovakia and if I’m not mistaken you are from Germany so it should be same price. I bought mine about one year ago too.

Hm. Maybe you had some more patience waiting for a good price or luck or both. ;)

@@MartinGuder True. Given a price/value over time/performance ratio of Hackintosh it's a small difference. But still, can get another 256 GB NVME SSD for that price difference, of 2 TB HDD, or better power supply etc. :). Anyway, you are right - it works, in comparison to many strange USB "solutions" some people are willing to try instead of going the way of less resistance.

It works believe me. My Hackintosh is proof. Had some bus 3 months and will work on a follow up video for beginning of May. There you can see it. I‘ll also provide an indepth guide on how to get it up and running.
