No one has more Hackintosh expertise than Teress. I have spent months going over websites and KZbin channels but she is, in my opinion, the best at building Hackintoshes. I became a monthly Patreon and enjoy it 100% . Thank you so much for all you have done! I've been a $30/month patreon supporter for August, and you helped me build the EXACT computer I was looking for. After using Mac computers since 2008 as an audio engineer and producer, I really dreaded the idea of switching to Windows because the new Mac product line just wasn't what I wanted. Your videos and personalized help were the sole factors in keeping me in the Apple environment. I'm now running a hackintosh on Mojave that would easily have cost over $4000, but I only paid a small fraction of that cost! You have really been a lifesaver. I'm so happy with my machine. If you need help to build a Hackintosh, like I did, then I highly recommend Teresa. Teresa’s videos are very clear, but if you’re limited on Hackintosh knowledge like me, you can still experience some tricky elements to the install, as all Hackintosh’s are different, so require careful configuration, which Teresa has helped me with. I’ve saved many thousands of £ of my hard earned money with Teresa’s help, so it’s a no-brainer to sort her out for her time - don’t be one of these people that expects somebody’s time and effort for nothing! If you do expect something for nothing, then simply figure it out for yourself. Think about it - an IT technician would cost you $40+ per hour, so Teresa’s help via Patreon represents amazing value!! Yes, you can figure this out for free by following the excellent online guides, but if you’re like me and don’t have weeks of time free to absorb all of this great info and guidance, then have to go around in circles with repeated trial and error scenarios, trying to get the machine working smoothly, then Teresa’s help is a wish come true! I’ve just built a super-power Hackintosh for a fraction of the price it would have cost me to buy the equivalent iMac Pro 14-core machine. My specs are: CPU - i9 9900k Motherboard - Gigabyte Z390 Designare GPU - Sapphire Vega 56 Pulse RAM - HyperX 32gb 3600 Mhz Everything works, inc. all motherboard internal and rear ports, case front ports, Thunderbolt 3 etc. I’ve got a quiet case and silent aio cooling - it is literally silent, even on heavy CPU load. My Geekbench scores are: Single Core - 6840 Multi Core - 39715 14 core iMac Pro Geekbench scores are: Single Core - 5192 Multi Core - 41344 Impressive right? I can’t recommend Teresa enough - THANK YOU!! :)

Will the SAPPHIRE Radeon VII work on this build. I’m looking at building a gaming PC for gaming/ hackintosh for productivity and 4K video editing. I’m not sure if the founder edition Vega 64 liquid cooling will perform the same for games compared to the Vega seven or 20 or whatever they call it.

no, R VII is not yet supported

@Morgonaut how is this build working with Catalina? I was thinking about buying an older Mac Pro 5,1, but a reliable Hackintosh that can upgrade the OS over time seems like a much better investment! Is it possible that this build could last 5+ years and continue updating with the future releases of OSX without require many changes to the hardware? Also, do you ever plan on doing a dual Xeon Hackintosh build?

I showed this build with Catalina already in some of my videos!

How is the Blutooth compatibility and is the wifi/BT card on this mainboard on a m.2 module? If yes, have you tried swapping it out for the original MacAir BT module BCM94360CS2 with an M.2 adapter for native wifi/BT?
@starcatify5 жыл бұрын
The Intel CNVi WiFi/Bluetooth card that comes preinstalled on this motherboard is not compatible with Mojave. Remove it and swap out with a native BCM94360CS2 on a M.2 adapter.

It looks like the build I want. What do you think about upping it to i9-9900x with the Gigabyte X299X Disignare? Will it be comparable to the Z390 build or will the 10-core build be more problematic?

yes it would be much more problematic for you :)

I would like to build a hackintoch too. I never done it before. It's nice to see it in a apple case as well. I have one like it and want to use it. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any videos on how you assemble them? Do you have videos on that? That would be really helpful.

I'd like to give this build a shot but some of the parts don't seem to be available anymore. Can we get an updated comparable list? And unless there's a lot of price gouging going on, I'm far over the $2400 that this system is claimed to be built for - and I still have a couple of components left to add.

main components are still the same and easy to buy and gpus you can buy any you want, I showed in my videos lot of compatible variants

Hi Teresa, super cool vid, I was waiting for this one, but I have a little question. I'm mostly working in music prod and composition. I have a slave computer (maxed out Mac Pro 5.1) that handle every virtual instruments. My master computer is an hackintosh (7700k delided, z170 ultra gaming, 970 pro etc...) In the music field, DAWs require more speed than power, more real time speed than general performance, so more about single core performance rather multicore. The 9900k seems to have both, I mean it's super powerful and still super fast but I heard the 5GHz turboboost isn't really affecting all the cores the same way (mostly boosting the 2 first cores). Have you experienced something like that ? My best geekbench score with the i7 7700k OC to 5Ghz was 6270 single core and 20814 multicore. Is your 6700+ score on single score would be that noticeable gain in real time performance ? (I'm looking for upgrade both of my master and slave computer)
@MorgonautHackintosh5 жыл бұрын
if you set correctly it in BIOS then all cores are maxed out at max frequency

I am trying to build this system but i cant seem to find the GPU anywhere. Is there an alternative that will work with same or better performance?
@BrianMillbrookProductions5 жыл бұрын
GPU question. In this video description the GPU is listed as the Sapphire Radeon VII 16gb. On your morgonaut.cloud website the description on the same video shows the GPU as AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition liquid. Before I make a purchase, are both of these GPUs comparable? or is one leaps and bounds over the other in terms of performance when video editing?

Hello & thank you for these fantastic video resources. I am new to building PCs and I am building according to your parts list, however I am stumbling on the GPU. The one spec'd is $1679 US.
