At 1:06:00 you told two points 1-Every quasi static process is reversible. 2-Quasi static with friction is irreversible. My question is then how every quasi static is reversible if it(with friction) is irreversible? So accordingly, It should have been stated as quasi static process without friction or any other external force (due to which the system and surroundings are undergoing any net change in work or heat individually) is reversible. Please is doubt ko clear kare sir.

The pressure and specific volume of the atmosphere are related according to equation PV = 2.5 × 10^5 where p is N/m2 and v is m3/kg. What depth of atnosphere is required to produce a pressure of 1.033 bar at earth's surface? Assume g= 9.81 m/s2

Chmecal equibrium means rate of forward reaction equal to rate of backward reaction, it is not chemical inactive I think... cz even in the equilibrium state still reactant to product , product to reactant goes on...but both forward and backward rate are same..
@techknow15426 жыл бұрын
Here we talking abt chem equilibrium at macroscopic lavel not microscopic lavel and atomic structure lavel
@himanshunautiyal10526 жыл бұрын
Thats not correct @Techknow!!! See! Of course chemical reaction isn't inactive... who says it is. but we consider this necessary for the condition of thermal equilibrium. E.g. if in a exothermic equilibrium reaction, the reaction is reversed it becomes endothermic equilibrium. Like decomposition of NH3 into N2 and H2.

Sir I have 2 questions. 1. In PV diagram why we take y axis as P and x axis as V ? 2. Why Area under the curve in PV diagram is workdone by system ? Please sir explain these two points. Thank you
@arunpatel56436 жыл бұрын
1. y=mx+c. we get value of y only when we vary value of x. y is dependent on x. same way pressure is dependent on volume. same with stress strain diagram. you get stress only when there is strain available because stress is dependent on strain. Can you produce STRESS without any FORCE....? 2. work done is P.dV . same as area of rectangle , length = P(constant) X breadth =dV= (v2-v1).

@himanshunautiyal10526 жыл бұрын
Mr. Neeraj! I request you to clear my one doubt. You said that all reversible processes are quasi-static and quasi-static processes are extreamly slow. But in almost all cycles we use reversible processes only which of-course will be extremely slow.. but that is not they are. Please help.

The example PISTON CYLINDER ARRANGEMENT WITH VALVES CLOSED is type of closed system. Not considering the valves condition, it is open.

Bcz of when you repeat same orocess in opposite ditection so you will not get same amt of heat or work or mass means there are some losses in energy or mass you can whatsap me 7985299503
@himanshunautiyal10526 жыл бұрын
See Shubham!! I try to clear your doubt. Reversible process is one which doesn't leave any residue behind. Let us consider piston cylinder arrangement. If piston slides from A to B due to gas pressure or any other means friction cause heat to generate. Now, again bringing it back at A, piston slides again and generates heat again... so though you have bring the system at initial state but net heat transfer( or heat produced) is not zero.... This is why friction causes irreversibility .
