So happy I can pin comments now. But if you watched the video I explained why I sometimes wear a wig knowing that I don't need one! I wear wigs because sometimes I don't have time to do anything to my hair and MAINLY when I go on vacation wearing my hair is a NO because it never lasts in any style (wash n go, braids out etc it will turn into a lions mane with no definition) and then I waste countless time trying to style my hair which is VERY ANNOYING...when I can just be enjoying my vacation.

Why is it that people are so quick to jump down someone's throat for not wearing their natural hair, but when Beyoncé steps out it's Queen Bey this Queen Bey that? She definitely doesn't wear her natural hair, but she's valued and seen as "black enough" and "loving her blackness." It's 2016 and positively said or not we still have men restricting a woman's right to choose how she wears her hair and convincing them that if they don't wear their hair a certain way, a way that a man likes, they don't value themselves. And backed-up by women trying to put other women down by saying the same thing. I would not call that "uplifting our people". All Black women are beautiful natural or not, long hair or not, dark skin or not. Telling them that is so important. That is my suggestion on how black men can help uplift black women and how black women can uplift themselves. This woman's hair is beautiful either way and she knows it. You can tell she doesn't need you or my approval to know her worth, because she knows it's not in her hair. For too long people, especially men, have told women how they should look. Let's try something new and let the individual woman decide for herself.Let her decide what makes her feel most beautiful and not judge, make assumptions, or say she is devaluing herself or her perceived blackness because of her choice. I'd like to see that day. Will I ever see that day?

I have one thing to say: I think it is very rude that people ask of if it is your real hair hair or not. Can black woman not have long hair? I have medeim hair and I'm black and its not a wig, of a half wig. Just wanted to get that out there.

Jaymarie01234 I see your point but even as a black woman even I question this. you might say it's the media but people go out daily and the fact is we see black women with different hair length different months, including colour. It's understandable for people to be curious especially when there are videos everywhere to make your wig look real.

yes it’s frustrating, my real hair is to the middle of my back and people will just flat out come up to me and be like “what hair do you use?” And I’m just like “it’s mine.” And one time this girl at my school didn’t believe me so she started fingering my hair for tracks!

Wigs are a protective style and gives you a break from doing your own hair daily especially if you work a lot or travel or something. Doesn't really have anything to do with "needing" a wig.

you slayed this I got the concept of this video half wigs can Help your real by giving it a rest that's why I love half wigs they can easily blend with your hair when done correctly like matching hair textures or by doing twist outs just cause a women has alot of hair doesn't mean she can't wear wigs it's so annoying when people say that tfs ! :-)
