I live in Wiggenhall St mary the Virgin and walk my dogs along the river bank every day and never get fed up with it. There is so much wildlife to see .

I actually really enjoy canal/river walks, I love being able to go in one direction for miles and miles and let my mind wander or enjoy chatting with a walking companion :)

Yes I suppose there is no stress of getting lost and the paths are normally pretty good. left:

If you walk down there at the right time of the year, you can see the tidal bore

Was about to say your washing machine had matured your hat into a vintage classic to make you feel good about yourself 😂 As someone who studied geography to the heady heights of A-Level, I would say river walks should get progressively more exciting the nearer you get to the source: both the land and the river will have more gradient which adds further entertainment. Cheers 👍
@cdwc4 жыл бұрын
My next planned walk is a river walk to it's source!
@georgec28944 жыл бұрын
Cool Dudes Walking Club The sources themselves are underwhelming bubbles of water, often in a ditch full of brambles. Hope I’ve sold the idea to you 👍

I do enjoy a coastal path, but I think my favourite walk would be a rural cross country one, where I encounter as few people as possible.
@cdwc4 жыл бұрын
I agree, the less people the better.

Woodland walking for me! Loads of wildlife, the sound of the wind in the trees, the mild peril if you get caught in a storm ( or by the wild boar) Although, living in the Forest of Dean, I guess I’m biased. 😊
@cdwc4 жыл бұрын
Yes I'm a big fan of woodland walks too. I like a mix of woods and ridgeway walks.

I need to go back to the Forest of Dean with the mountain bike when the weather is better, I got completely soaked last year.

Cool Dude #139 I’d like to call a river rushing reeds but that’s a terrible name compared to my favourite which is the river rother. They nailed that. Quick recommendation for a river walk, Chartham to Canterbury along the great stour. About 3miles to the cathedral and a nice place to walk through.
@cdwc4 жыл бұрын
You're the only entry so far so you're winning. Will put the Chartham Walk on the list.

Cool Dudes Walking Club fingers crossed then because my son has almost worn out the first pack and it’s only been a week or so. It’s a new family night in game. Will be getting some for Christmas presents.

My favourite sort of walk is hill walking, I like the views. But I moved to the coast and have no proper hills hear me so most of my walks are cliff and beach walks which I do also enjoy.
@cdwc4 жыл бұрын
You could start making a hill.

I like hills and woodlands best. My favourite walk would be through a large wood on top of a hill. My river would be called the Great Bulging Flow. Cheers, Matt #163 ( I think)

Sorry to disagree ,I like flat walks because you seem to be able to make more progress. Climbing up a hill only to have to immediately make your way down the other side takes too much energy. Also like flat smooth walks where you don't have to watch where you're walking are easier if you're talking to someone else - or filming!
