This was the best one yet, He was so kind & understanding it seems like she should of let her guard down. It clearly wasn't going to work out but, she could of confided in a stranger like him because of the beginning.

I agree. Enough of the character judgement. Isn't it an interesting story? I love how that in these short little vignettes they take such sharp character turns and story twists that you never see coming. Great writing. I'm envious of the talent that goes in to a production like this.

Of course! Especially if you're more mature and know what you need in a relationship. My mom had a shotgun wedding right out of high school, had my brother and sister and was divorced by the time she was 21. She met my dad at 24, had me a year later, and they are planning their 30th anniversary celebration right now. Knowing her story is the reason I didn't get married young, because I knew to wait until I knew myself as an adult. The key is to learn from mistakes, yours and other people's.

She was talking to herself. All of these men present issues she has with herself. That's the point of this show - of what Christine is doing. She's trying to escape, but she's forced to see and deal with her problems. Problems that are embodied by each man that sits across from her.

Part 1: My take is that both that coordinator lady and Lyle represented two sides of Christine's conscience. Ever since we were introduced to Oz, I started thinking in terms of Christine's journey being similar to Dorothy's in the Wizard of OZ and all the support characters represent allegorical themes that are going on in her life (on the yellow brick road to find herself.) I made a comment about it on episode 8 but didn't get any feedback about it. To be continued....

Part 3: Lyle on the other hand tells her his own sad story of opportunity lost and his frustration in knowing it can never be reclaimed again. In essence they both are guiding her to know that "there's no place like home". Everything she is looking for is contained within her already existing world but she is so intent on searching for it outside herself (by speed dating) that she can't see the great treasure she has in what she has, i.e.: a husband who loves her and two beautiful children.

I liked this one, it gave us more info about her. I loved lyle, he pushed her to question how she sees herself and i believe that if she were able to answer the question of how she saw herself after she said as a girl, she wouldn't be searching for that indefinable something that her family and kids don't fill. If she knew herself she wouln't be looking for who she is in these dates hoping that one guy will sit at her table and make her feel complete

I think this is a key to why people get all annoyed with Christine and love to bash her. It has way more to do with the person who is annoyed than the way the character is written. She acts as a mirror and people see themselves in her. Underneath her erratic behavior, her story is being told through these men and in every episode clues are given. I think many are missing the clues because something pushes our buttons and and we are too busy reacting with anger and condemning her to see them.

Lyle just told her the story of her life. She wanted to lash out at him, but he was just too real. She needs to go home to her family, lower her expectations, like Lyle has, and accept her reality as a wife and mother to the "two most beautiful girls in the world." Everything she needs and wants is there, but she is so busy thinking she is missing out on something that she can't realize it. I hope this journey she is on leads her back to her life, and the people that need her.

This episode explained a lot about Christine and a little bit why she is the way she is. The fact that she believes that her being a mother does NOT make her a woman says a lot. There are so many women who fortunately change their ways after conceiving a baby, and few that do not. I unfortunately believe that Christine is either a lost cause or just seriously needs some help, because i can see this ending very badly for her.
@LoveVASky12 жыл бұрын
Lyle's marriage seems close to Christine's experience: Married young, had kids, wife thinks husband "insensitive", husband thinks wife "insatiable". (Christine's husband let her speed date 8x's, and she's still not satisfied, calling it "restless"). It appears Christine is unsure of herself and whether her life is the life she expected. Her climax into womanhood has to be by making a decision and being truthful. I look forward to seeing how or if this unfolds in just 3 episodes.

If you remember in Hamlet, his father had been murdered. I am a little sketchy on the details but I remember that Hamlet arranged to have a play that mimicked how he thought a certain person murdered his father and then planned to hold a performance and invite the suspect and then watch him as he watched the play. The plays the thing is a famous quote meaning that through the medium of the play, he will be able to determine if the person killed his father. Wikipedia may have a write up of it.

I think that the reason she looks downright sad in this episode is probably because she can relate to one or two things about what he said. That they argued, were getting a divorce, has kids (before she died). And now Christine is kinda looking back at it as "wow, could I be making those mistakes?" I could be wrong but I think she was relating to him quite a lot.

Just watched it again, his honesty seems far more genuine than the chef's. Chef was trying to entertain, be witty, but we didn't quite no him. I wondered why he was talking too personally so quickly. However, this gentleman's honesty made more sense to me. Christine, you may have something here about him, "You might just find yourself getting laid." Balfour & Mr. Pediatrician had nice personalities and faces, but the last 2 guys (episodes 8and even 9), well let's say they can kiss my cerebellum
