Pot N' Pan its a shame. The Wii U tried to fix the mistakes of the Wii (and it had BC, which the later models of the Wii did not) better graphics, more power, more competitive games. Yet it was tossed to the side for poor name choice and marketing, and competitive gamers who the console was trying to appeal to, tossed it to the side due to the commercials making it look like it was for children and also having the word “Wii” in it left a sour taste in their mouths after being severely disappointed by the Wii.

Rest in peace wii u. You were never the best selling console there was or even the best console I've ever played. You were made fun of for being weak and not having big name titles coming for your system. But what you did offer was truly amazing. I remember nights where I would spend with a friend just playing games like Nintendo land or Mario Kart 8 laughing our asses off with a shit ton of drinks and pizza. Or the even the other amazing online titles like splatoon and smash bros 4 and so many more games I could mention right now. I remember I would even leave my system on and just fall asleep to this music. But your time has passed, and the new extroverted cool hip and cool nintendo switch is here and its selling amazing. But without you, there wouldn't have been a switch! So I thank you, for everything Wii U. Rest in peace

This makes me sad. The Wii U is so an underrated but good console. The console itselfs has no the best specs, but it was a console with such great games. I know exactly how it was, when I played with my friends Pikmin or Nintendo Land in the early days. All those COD kids says the Wii U is shit, only because it's underrated power. Fuckk all of those! Nintendo gives a shit and me either! The only thibng that Nintendo want, is that everyone can have fun on a console. And that was the Wii U. Rest In Peace you wonderful console. I will still love you even if the Nintendo Switch comes out.

It doesn't have the best specs, but it formed memorable moments for my video gaming hobby. It was my first HD home console and it complemented with the 3DS well. I remember playing Zelda on Wii U while I played Pokémon on 3DS- and that's a specialty that both home and handheld consoles have. I personally don't care whether Wii U should have the best specs, but I care about playing games that leave lasting memories.

Look, I know the Wii U was way far from being one of Nintendo’s best selling consoles, but that doesn’t take away from the absolute nostalgia that it gave. The games were great, the features were great (especially the GamePad with the feature of being able to play games on it and the TV), but most importantly, the nostalgia was the best part. I never owned a Wii U or anything related to it when I was a kid, but I own one now, and I have to say, the nostalgia is literally taking me back to 2013-2014. God I miss those days, especially the years before those😔

It was December 25th, 2016. Christmas morning was finally here and I was dying of excitement. I rushed down the stairs and into the living room, and there it was underneath the Christmas tree. A Wii U set which included Mario Kart 8. Along with it were three games. Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Maker, and Super Smash Bros. 4. I had played Mario Maker at my friends house months prior, and it was one hell of a time. We would create terrible levels with annoying ass sound effects and it was perfect. I opened up the box and my dad started to set up the console and connect it to the TV. It took half the day but I didn’t care; I was hyped. Around the afternoon was when I first heard the pitter patter of miis feet and the echoey, serene music. I finally started up one of the games: Mario Kart 8. I went into VS mode and I was super exited as I looked up at the big tv while watching the track intro play. I wasn’t very good, mind you, but I had a lot of fun. I did not realize, however, that you had to unlock more tracks in grand prix mode. My friend told me about how you could unlock the tracks. I also played this game at a friends house before. We would all use our Wii remotes to play and every time I went below 6th, she would take over for me. I loved that game and I was super enthusiastic to see it come to the switch. The second game i tried was Mario maker. I made some really crappy stages but it was al it of fun. My friends would play test the stages to see how good they where. I also played a lot of 100 Mario challenge, as well as other people’s levels in course world. I was exited to see the game come to switch with new items, multiplayer, game modes, etc. The Third game I tried out was smash 4. Although I didn’t love it as much as my other games, I still had one heck of a time creating stages and trying to find my favorite characters. I loved taking on master hand with my friends as well. The final game I tried out was my favorite; Super Mario 3D World. I freaking loved this game so much. The music, being able to last as a cat, the bosses, etc. I played as Toad quite a bit. I didn’t know you had to collect green stars to beat the game, so I got stuck several times. Nevertheless, I went back to other stages on the hunt for green stars. I even beat the game one time with my dad. He was no expert but we had so much fun, and in the stages with baseballs we would throw them back and fourth. It will always be my favorite Mario game. All in all, I had some amazing memories with the Wii U. I eventually got Wii games as well as a switch. So basically, although the Wii U wasn’t very powerful and it’s advertising and name could’ve been done way better, but i still don’t care about that. This console has helped me through some tough times and it also introduced me to Nintendo. It sure isn’t perfect, but the childhood nostalgia this thing gave me will always give me a smile and I’m really glad I grew up with this thing. Edit: Forgot to add that I created a bunch of miis on the console and use the face camera. I love those guys.

They moved away, unfortunately, and though I was young and very bad at games (I still am lol) it was always such a fun time. I have nostalgia for older consoles like the Wii U and I don't know why. Art in a nutshell: Music that sounded ambient from the monitor but which, if also played from the controller, added a beat to it. A console that respected all its predecessors, which had allowed us to recover an avalanche of old classics from the most disparate consoles, which optimized the social component, the online component and the services of the operating system. All without taking into account backwards compatibility with Wii and even with the Wii Shop. This was Wii U, which I consider to be one of the best Nintendo consoles because of all these factors. Also one of the most original, considering the bizarre controller with screen. As we know, it is one of the most unfortunate, underrated consoles, also due to the choice of name (which seemed to indicate a banal extension of Wii) which led to its few sales and has, perhaps, led to a change in mentality and strategy of market on many fronts, sometimes questionable. Nintendo's last great home console closed down online services this year, cutting off access to an incredible catalog the likes of which we've never seen before. I want to remember it like this, but I think this music will speak for itself

Man, I can't believe today Nintendo Wii U's and 3Ds' servers are shutting down... I don't know if I'll be still able to live without them, they were like, my entire chiIdhood... I can still remember how I first got this console with my brother for Christmas, and then my cousins also bought it. How the day after Christmas Eve I was watching Wii games with my dad and there we spotted Splatoon. When we didn't have our own phones yet, I would tell my dad to text my aunt that I would be on Voice Chat on Wii U and so my cousins and I would chat, there were also various effects and we would draw moustaches for example. How I played Splatoon 1 for the first time and how my dad had to beat the first boss because we couldn't, how I fooled around and tried to sing and dance like the Splatoon guys, how we tried to make friends with the people we played battles with (one of them was called Papa), how I played more than my cousin, and still had a lower level than him and never managed to hit the highest level, which was 50. I still remember how they announced the Nintendo Switch and when I found out there would be a Splatoon 2, I pre-ordered the console and that game and whenever I drive past the store where I picked up the Switch, those feelings are still with me. How my cousin had to beat us the last boss in Splatoon 1 because we couldn't beat it either, how I played The Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker with him and we almost died from laughter because as kids we couldn't pass that one level and it turned out to be very easy. And how I got Super Mario 3d World at the end of the school year for good grades from my grandfather, then with my cousins throughout the vacations, day in and day out, and later also through the winter vacations we would get up at 7 am and play Mario 3D World or Karts. And when we went to the beach, the adults bought us water guns and then we pretended all the time that we were Splatoon folks, as I went later with my parents to Fuertaventura and there I played like that all the time too. Sometimes coming home we pretended that my older cousin was Mario, my younger cousin Luigi, my brother Toad and I was Princess Peach, because that's how we always chose characters. I still remember how we bought a random game which was called "Tank tank tank!" and how we were beating a three-headed dragon or some big spiders. How we did Mii for the first time using camera scanning, where we almost cried from laughter. How we played Super Mario Party while eating sunflower. How we played Lego City Undercover, where the game lagged and kept going back to the moment where we got eaten by a shark and my older cousin yelled at us. How we played Rabbids Land, Chompy Chomp Chomp Party, Art Academy: Sketch Pad, Runner 2 and 3, Fast Racing Neo, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyrics, Color Zen, Armikrog or Zen Pinball 2... I still remember playing Tomodachi Life on 3Ds and crying along with the character who was rejected by the main character. I still remember how I got Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, how I decorated interiors, how I later dreamed with all my heart to become a designer. I remember leaving a stylus for 3Ds in my dad's office and having to get a spare until we found one. I remember Yoshi's Wooly World, whose soundtrack my brother tried to sing as he passed the last boss and almost cried. I remember Luigi's Mansion 2 and how I wanted to have the same ringtone for my phone as Luigi. I remember YoKai Watch, after which I used to go to the forest almost all the time, pretend to see ghosts and dream about that watch. I remember Cooking Mama, after which I wanted to be able to bake and cook like her, but nothing worked for me......... I'm going to miss those consoles soooooo much. Thank you for upbringing me. Thank you for teaching me so many things. Thank you for connecting me and my cousins. Thank you for an amazing childhood. I'll never forget you.

It was a cozy winter day right after Christmas, but still part of school holidays, I was a teenager and just returned from my local tech store with a brand new Wii U Nintendoland pack, I crashed with my WiiU on my bike because it was so slippery and icy, but everything survived, I set it up at home and was greeted with this sound. Browsing Miiverse for endless days afterwards and communicating with my friends instead of using Skype just because we wanted to, this felt like the pure essence of internet for me back in the days

Man, I remember when I got my Wii u in 2012, so many nostalgic memories, playing Wii party u, using Wii u chat with my friends this was my childhood console from 5 (2012) till (2016) 9 years old. So many underrated gems. Now as of January 18, 2022, you can't add eshop credit to the Wii U version of the eshop. The Wii u will always have a place in my heart as a decent console with cringey ads

In April 2024, online servers for every Wii U game will shut down. I sometimes look back on the console and my own childlike curiosity and innocence. I grew up with both the Wii and it's successor. The franchise I love so dearly had it's start on the shitty gamepad console with low sales, but it managed to survive past that. And I'm happy. Happy that I was one of the few who knew how great the Wii U could be of just some more care was actually put into it. The experience of owning one when it was still relevant made me who I am today, in all honestly. Nowadays, the Wii U's death is truly imminent, with the closing of Miiverse in 2017, the end of the 3DS/WiiU Eshop a while back, numerous game ports to the switch from both, DLC for games that expands on what came from that era, it shows Nintendo is focusing fully on their most recent console now. As much as this could be great for the Switch, it's still sad to see childhood memories come and go. So, I'm just here to say my goodbyes to the console when the time comes, it was fun while it lasted. I don't know whose reading this right now. I don't think anyone will, but thanks for sticking around.

I miss the old Nintendo. Since Iwata died, the company doesn't seem like it's true self anymore. Nintendo used to be great. But now... I see why people hate it. We have Wii U ports on the Switch, which in some cases are nice to have for nostalgia, but it is quite lazy and kind of ruins the good feel of the Wii U games. We have Joy-Con drift, and Nintendo still refuses to do anything to fix it. The online service is reasonable, but then they gave us an overpriced expansion for it and most likely won't fix the issues with it, or add more stuff to make it worth it, and the games and accessories are overpriced. They cheap out on materials, resulting in the console and even accessories breaking easily. I miss when Nintendo was reasonable and actually cared. Nintendo, I may be disappointed in you right now, but thank you for the amazing childhoods you gave us.

"Goodbye Wii U" by me! When I first started out- I got the super mario maker for the wii U! And it was awesome for how good it actually was. You can go online and share and MORE! Like mii verse before it canceled- It was so good at the time for chatting and more! KZbin was nice on there as well- the best part of the wii U was the menu music and connection of the 3DS. That was AWESOME! can I also note that it can call? Lol So- as I say goodbye for a while- for memories, for good times, for Combos in smash, for all the friends who were so kind to me on wii u- goodbye...
