20:50 always hits me in the heart. How it's the end of the long journey, all the friends I lost along the way, and it's finally time to put an end to the evil that caused it all. Made me think as a child that someday I would rise above it all and save the day and be important. That never happened.

Possibly the best game released for the NES. Definitely in the same league with Low G Man, MegaMan 4, Super Mario 3.

It's a special week for these 8BS uploads, as this is the first time 8BS Monday falls on my birthday! So were taking a blast to the past with these uploads being updated/fixed versions of my very early uploads. Starting with Crystalis, now of course this upload has the mix with less reverb, and more sound team information, but the main thing is that the DPCM drum samples don't have after static which can be heard on the old video, so enjoy this great soundtrack again!

AHH but goddamn right there it's KLAX as the next entry in the playlist!! Wow maybe I wrote too soon. Well probably not. But... maybe?? I mean... Giganticus Breathalizer is a transcendent masterpiece. Ahh that's more like Follin's Solstice though, in that there are great tunes but not too many of them and they don't form as complex a whole all together. Well anyway. These games all have great music!

i loved this game, there were so many things to find, do, buy, use, places to explore...it took ages to earn the money to buy expensive things because most enemies gave you just a few coins, so you didnt finish the game in just a couple hours time...and it was heartbreaking to realize that because YOU built the ice bridge to get to town, the enemies were also able to get there and killed everyone because of it

❤ Crystalis. Both versions of the game are super fun and have great music. Nes definitely has the better music but gbc's music ain't lacking either, would be cool to see a video with all of its tracks! I tend to prefer the gbc version simply from not having the gameplay broken up by grinding and constantly swapping swords, but the limited screen space makes it questionably less worth lol.

Luckily, I found this in the bargain bin back in the day. This was my first RPG. It was also the first game in which I saw an NPC die in an emotional way. After talking to the NPC, then trying again, only to read "He's already dead" really struck me. I was just a kid, so I was like "They can do that??" At the time, I thought killing off an NPC so dramatically was innovative. This is such a great game, in many ways. Awesome music, gameplay, story, and environments.
