It’s difficult not to love this spruced-up version of NAD’s classic amp

The NAD is nearly 2x the price, but it's not it's way more you seem to forget it needs a source CD player, or streamer seems a useless comparison? It might be better to compare the Wim mimi via the better amp to the Wim amp? Sorry, but most people who wish to upgrade generally spend more not a lot less to do so?

I a/b/x compared the Wiim to a NAD 3020 using a Van Alstine ABX comparator switch. They were very close, but the clarity of the more modern Wiim made it the winner. Add in the room correction available in the Wiim and it isn’t even close.

I have both Wiim amp and an older NAD3050i. The build quality of Wiim is fantastic for the low price while the NAD is 4X more expensive and build quality sucks. Pairing to Airplay for the NAD is horrible. It takes multiple tries to get it connected while Wiim amp gets it right first time... Why would you rubbish Wiim for the better economics and generally good quality sound?

I have a nad d3020 driving some old pioneer speakers from 1982 ...it's not bad...not great - came a cross the WiiM then got flooded with videos for it. Glad i watched yours!

I have been using the NAD D7050 for about a decade as my main amp, attached to a pair of KEF Q900's - It is a brilliant little amp by NAD (looks like the NAD D3020 - but with a bit more power, and no analog inputs). Streaming to these NAD's is non-existent (other than Bluetooth or Airplay. I replaced my Squeezebox with a Raspberry Pi with the DIGI Hat by HiFiBerry, running PlexAmp - never regretted this setup.

The WiiM amplifier is typical ChFi and load dependent but for $300 it would be decent for a garage or shop or as something to use until you could afford something legit. I would get a NAD 316BEE over that NAD.

Don’t worry about the type a personalities man. They make comments that don’t align with their beliefs. I have this and didn’t review because I didn’t like the sound. Amazing app and streamer but the amp section…. You have the words that I don’t
