Isolation is part of the new post-2014 canon. It´s CM that got dropped as it is never referenced. Not that Alien/Predator canon ever made sense.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is not canon. Before Fox was purchased by Disney, they released a book titled "Wayland Yutani Company Report" that documents all canon events in the timeline. Alien Colonial Marines is not mentioned.

Anyone remember the Alien vs Predator game by rebellion in 2010? The aliens in that game were absolutely terrifying playing as the marines. Completely underrated game that no one talks about

Yeah but it would have been better if the marines couldn’t block and knock the Aliens and the Preds on the floor. Kinda broke the immersion but yes they are truly terrifying if you disagree the block and melee attack from the marines. That’s what I did for the pc version while playing it on the hardest difficulty but multiplayer going up against tail and plasma spamming then I welcome the block and melee system for the marines because you are going to need it.

Alien isolation didnt have a "twist" that revealed that theres 2 aliens. Throughout the majority of the game, you are up against just one alien and you eventually kill it. What gets revealed is that theres a nest of aliens down in the reactor. Way more than 2. If i remember correctly, during the last space walk section, theres between 4 and 7 aliens on screen. But there was only the one alien stalking you throughout your journey up until you kill it. There arent even multiple npc aliens for the majority of the game. Its just the one ai entity. It also never teleports unless it needs to be in position for a cutscene. The channel "Ai and Games" has a really neat video explaining how alien isolation's alien works. Totally worth checking out

I think there's one part with multiple aliens, but only one is allowed to be down on the floor while the rest are stuck in the vents so it's still pretty fair

"Lost class action status" means just that; they lost the status of a "class action". Meaning that they failed to show that they represented a "class" of people affected. Which means that not enough people signed up to say that the case represented their experience and that they felt equally aggrieved. That's how a class action works; you have to show that your case is representative of a huge number of other people likewise affected by the same incident. Successful class actions are generally those where hundreds or thousands of people independently sue over the same thing, and then merge their claims into a single case, not where a couple of people make an appeal for public support.

one of the funniest things about the game is the reason why the aliens AI did not correctly at all was because there was a typo in one line of its code, A coder found this, fixed it for his install of the game and the Alien worked perfectly

Karl, you're wrong regarding Alien: Isolation, the entire game is just one alien, that's always just the one alien hunting you and eventually you manage to kill it, the "twist" near the end it's that that alien made a nest, and the eggs hatched and now there are countless aliens around, giving the player that nostalgic feeling of hopelessness of the classic Aliens terror movies. I mean, if just one was so hard to kill and hunted everyone on that station (I don't know the population numbers on that station but when you and your crew arrive it's mostly empty with just a few survivors that also end up in the aliens belly, so I reckon it had to have killed at leas dozens if not hundreds), at end you decide the only hope to end this threat to humanity is to blow up the station.

I think it's interesting to note that in the canonical Alien Encyclopedia 'the Weyland Yutani Report' Alien Isolation is mentioned in the book whereas Colonial Marines is nowhere to be seen. Nor has it been mentioned in any subsequent pieces of Aliens medium. I think it's safe to say CM is non-canon now.

While the French high kick music works, a better and more appropriate clip would have been Michigan J. Frog as a reference to the parody scene in the dinner from the film Space Balls, but also there is even an Easter egg in Aliens: Colonial Marines referencing the parody.

I pre-ordered the game, saw the review the morning of release and didn't turn up for collection at my local GAME store. 8:15 - The thumb drive is said to have a bunch of files for their upcoming projects (including Borderlands 3) and also a video of a female (of questionable age) performing female ejaculation which I believe his quoted as saying it was a "Magic trick" to him.

I played it eventually, and it was better than I'd expected. There were actually parts I'd say were good and do indeed fit the series well. The rest wasn't actually terrible just kinda bland generic shooter stuff; different enemy types etc. I didn't personally come across any significant bugs, but even with those people love Bethesda games (not '76 mostly but...) and anyone claiming they're bug free has been exceptionally lucky (the dancing Alien would fit right in etc). The mess surrounding the game is pretty awful but if you like Aliens and FPS you probably wouldn't have a terrible time with it now. The bits that go well probably bring it up to a 55% score.

I actually happen to know about Timegate Studios. They made the Section 8 games (think Battlefield, set in the far future, with soldiers who deploy into combat by dropping in from orbit with nothing but their armour to protect them), the second of which was actually really good.

It wasn't one letter in one line of code, kind of. It was one letter in a .ini file. Anyone could have read the text folder in your my games folder and noticed the spelling mistake and just corrected it themselves.

I bought this game brand new, and it constantly crashed on me. Everytime it tried to load portions of the game, I never actually got to play much of it because of this

fun little fact. pne of the beta testers found an issue with 2 of the weapons shooting sound. one made a snaredrum sound and the other made a trumpet sound. he sent a clip to a dev and the dev didn't belive it and thought it was editted, so the developer came to the tester and told him to do it again and he did and they both just burst out laughing

Okay I knew this game was falsely advertised. It's horribly obvious. But hearing the stuff about Gearbox moving developers from Colonial Marines over to Borderlands 2 and Duke Nuke 'Em just really hits the point as to why the lawsuit was dismissed. Even Sega was upset with them for their nonsense. I would've thought Sega would actually throw them under the bus.

The only gamemode on aliens v predators I played was Alien Infestation. Me and a friend used to play that every weekend where we could stay up really late. It was scary but fun.

To be completely fair, in various comics, audibooks etc. there are multiple aliens and people really actually try to fight them with some degree of success. So in that regard the movie Alien is mostly an exception because it's just an isolated crew of nobodies not knowing what the android got them into.
