I love him since i was 15 . Now I'm 41😅 When everyone hated him in ST TNG, for me the episodes have been the highlights of my day 💖 Still got the movie collection 💖

I never really got the "Wesley Hate". I was the same age as Wesley when ST:TNG started. I was a geek, I was unpopular, I was intelligent - and here's this kid on the bridge. And he's just like me! And he's flying the Starship Enterprise! I thought Wesley was so cool. In retrospect as an adult Wesley was not well written and it took until the third season before he was written as a good character.

+ @Nikolas Zane Also, in a full cast TNG panel, when a 2nd question started with "thank you all for coming to ________" he was the only one who spoke and said - *Don't just thank us for that* , thank to all of the people who put this convention together, because it was not easy to make this happen. and it's not just the con organizers it's their staff, it's all the volunteers, it's all thanks to the people who have worked very hard to make this series of improbable events line up *to this* (0:10) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hojLlqt8o8ucY80

Wil Wheaton has this innocent kind of look that makes it impossible for you to stop staring at him. Great guy, great actor, awesome interview.

I don´t think he fully knows the power of communication he has. For example, on this interview he has the intelect to disable any structured mainstream numbing question Larry can ask, but he doesn´t. He is better than that. But sometimes he takes a risk, and make a mark with a social or political statement.

I agree with Will we need net neutrality, private enterprise should not have the rights to meddle with the delivery of content. They already shape the news let them do that but I decide what I want to see/read on the internet.

So I shouldn't be able to buy faster Internet speed if I want to? Everyone.... using the Internet.... at the same speed... even if some are willing to pay extra for a better product/service? Do you want the same restrictions on the phones you buy, the cars you buy, the clothes you buy? "It's not fair" is the endless, tired, misguided mantra of socialists and progressives. What a visionary you are.

I saw the Mark Harmon interview Larry did and I just couldn't watch it. I was so boring! Because Mark seemed so unfriendly and GUARDED. But in this interview, Wil strikes the perfect balance between being guarded and open. He seems like a great person.

To me it really just seemed like the only thing Larry was interested in was finishing the interview. Maybe it was just the way it was edited or maybe there was a time limit, but it really seemed like Larry just wasn't interested in most things that Wil was talking about. - Not trying to talk smack or anything, just my observations.
@johnking51746 жыл бұрын
You have just summed up Larry's 40 year broadcasting career, all his interviews come across as unprepared, not knowing who the person is, not knowing the subjects to be covered. It would be like me saying to you Matthew, right here is British actor Matt Smith. Here are a list of what he has done in his career and what he plans to do in the future, now in 30 minutes time you will go into the studio and interview him. Good Luck! - That is how all Larry's interviews come across, with some exceptions, like people he knows.
@einat16224 жыл бұрын
True. You can see on the side image (while the close up is on Wheaton) he is all about reading his cue cards.... I guess Wil's experience with acting and with green screen helped in this interview.

I may not agree with Larry's philosophy or politics on every thing, however I certainly have enough respect for him to know that him having 75k subscribers and Ray William Johnson having multiple millions, just goes to show how vapid and backwards people are.

I find it a supremely weird interview. Will is brilliant, as always though. It felt like Larry was just bombarding him with questions having little to no understanding of the answers, so there was no interchange, no conversation flow. Except for that one moment when they discussed Obama's failure to close the Guantanamo Bay prison. This was something Larry had preliminary knowledge of and could weigh in on... So I don't know how much pre-interview research interviewers are expected to do but this felt... underwhelming.

I've watched several of his interviews now. He asks the questions but rarely gets into an actual conversation.

A "geek" was originally a guy in a carnival who couldn't do much of anything, so the only way he could attract eyeballs was to bite the heads off of live animals, such as chickens. Now, the word is synonymous for "nerd." 🤔
