Welcome back to SRV land where the transitions are as smooth as silk and nothing stops Stevie from the business at hand.

I'm so glad new genrations are experiencing and appreciating Stevie Ray Vaughan. I can strill remember exactly where I was on the 27th of August 1990. Rest in peace SRV you did more good than you'd ever know.

He breaks a string right in the middle of the song.....doesn't miss a beat.......true talent and a real professional.....amazing
@sandrasmith75014 жыл бұрын
Dont think I'll ever get tired of watching Mr. Professional switch out guitars without missing a beat when that guitar string could stand no more and broke. Audience appreciated it as well. Ahh...to have been there. Shout out to the guitar tech as well!! So freakin cool to watch. Miss you Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan. Great reaction, ty.

I was watching and thought,"is that a broken string?" And sure enough, the transition is so smooth. Obviously not the first time it's happened
@harrietmiller39824 жыл бұрын
Yes it was equivalent to a race car pit crew for efficiency and no wasted movement. Stevie never batted an eye or dropped the beat when the string broke.

If I wouldn't have been watching, I wouldn't have known about the string and guitar change. Amazing...Spent lots of time in Texas.

I was fortunate enough to see Stevie Ray two weeks before he passed away and his opener was Jeff Beck. A show I'll never forget.. I agree with you about Reece Waters as well, but if you were ever lucky enough to see "Yes" in concert, you'd also have to rate Rick Wakeman right up there as one of the greatest keyboard players of all time...:)
@sometimeslyrical3 жыл бұрын
Listening to Stevie, I forgot you were there. Yes, Reese killed it. Chod, please, please do more SRV and Double Trouble.
@melanieredfield97364 жыл бұрын
Tommy Shannon on bass, Chris Layton on drums. Yes Reese is one of the BEST keyboard players, especially given that Stevie tuned 1/2 step down which forced Reese to play more complex, "gnarly" (his word!) chords. His most impressive work -- and IMHO, Stevie's as well -- is on "Riviera Paradise" during this same concert... stunning performances by SRV and the members of Double Trouble! Since you are a fan & a musician, this is one you must see.
@harrietmiller39824 жыл бұрын
I agree Melanie. Riviera Paradise is a must experience masterpiece. It was written after his rehab and it soothes, encourages, stuns you with conveyed emotion. I am in awe and enraptured each time I watch.

Everything that SRV did during the clean period of his career is such a pleasure to see him truly enjoying what he is doing.

One of the best moves Stevie ever made was adding Reese to double trouble. Only wish it could have gone much longer.

OMG!!! THANK YOU!!! The stars and planets are back in align again because you finally came back to my all time favorite 😂. Please check out SRV Life Without You live from The Capitol Theater. I know I’ve requested this many many times. But for a good reason. He breaks something else in this one and if you read lips when he grins and mouths to his crew off stage you will see. Most performers would walk off stage, but not SRV. He keeps it going and finishes. Also the message he delivers shows what a truly amazing person he is.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder right.... How refreshing was hearing SRV today??
@killiansred10003 жыл бұрын
You missed a very important component. The guitar tech had the guitar presented in front just how SRV holds it and got the strap reattached so fast Stevie could stay with the song. The guys on stage need all the folks behind the scenes so when little problems pop up they don’t turn into big ones.

Stevie Ray is not a ten... he’s an eleven or a twelve. He’s at least one more if not two above a ten... He takes a lot of great old blues songs and breathes new life into them mixed with his original songs.
@0okamino3 жыл бұрын
Or maybe he's a 13 (sometimes up to 17), like the high E strings he used. Even then, those strings didn't stand a chance against SRV. :D
