Stew plays and always played TAMA! I bought this when it came out. I was just a 12 year old kid, and then I wanted to be a drummer, and lo! these many years later I'm still playing. Love Stewart. Glad you're digging this.

Chod- the video is beautiful. Shot in the Carribean. Stewart Copeland is my fave drummer. Walking On the Moon. ❤

I remember we had the The Police - Zenyatta Mondatta album on 8-track tape. I don't think you have reacted to their song "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da".

Sting doesn’t get enough credit for his bass playing. To be singing and grooving on the bass like that takes incredible talent!

Stewart Copeland is one of the best rock drummers of all time

They went out of their way to not sound like anyone else. Five solid albums between '78 and '83 and poof, over. Glad I saw them once at Day on the Green in '83. The Clash opened.

To my knowledge, this is the only song in the Police discography that features any instruments played by someone other than the three band members. The piano part was arranged & performed by their producer (IIRC), and for the steel drums they recorded performers local to the recording studio in Monserrat.

Yeah, I was thinking someone must be playing steel drums unless Copeland did it in the studio separately... good to know.

The Police on The Old Grey Whistle Test playing Regatta de Blanc and Bed's Too Big Without You is a must see! Stewart Copeland is such a beast.

Absolute banger of a song off my favorite Police album, though only by a hair since they're all great. Check out 'Spirits in the Material World' or 'Invisible Sun' or maybe 'Demolition Man' next from this album. Trivia: Demo Man was famously covered by Grace Jones. If you listen to that, make sure to watch the official video. Grace is definitely a serious DIVA!

This song is such a mood lifter If you want to hear a Drummer with unique rhythms and textures who is a contemporary of Stewart Copeland, check out Steve Jansen from the band Japan
