Lennon's heart has impacted the world so much, look at all these beautiful ripples. Nowadays he gets attacked a bit for being a messy, troubled guy. I acknowledge that stuff and find his efforts to heal and help the world and people and himself even more beautiful because of his honesty and flaws. We're living in a time where it seems that the evil among us are winning the day. Performances like this reassure me that love is real, love breaks through evil, love reaches the loneliest, most hurting hearts. Love is the light, but we need to carry it to one another. Thank you Tweedy & co. for doing stuff like this, it's so sweet and true.

I know. People act like he was some kind of hypocrite because his past did not always live up to the image some had of him. He was extremely flawed, the result of so much childhood trauma. He didn't entirely transcend it and inflicted some of it on Cynthia and Julian, but he was always striving to become something better. He was angry and violent, but tried to be idealistic and peaceful. That's what we should be taking from his life and music.

Yea, especially those songs that are so autobiographical. Most of his work was like that but there was a period where it’s painfully apparent that all the wounds, losses, and deepest traumas just came flowing out of him through his music. I just don’t know of any other artist who risked exposing himself in this way. An extraordinary artist.
