ETH may have to go in the end , tbd. But with ETH this season i think its absolutely ridiculous this emerging rhetoric that injuries aren't an excuse and "every club has injuries". Our injuries have been very detrimental to our season ; and i'd expect very few PL clubs come close to our amount of injuries. We've basically had no LB the entire season , Lisandro missed nearly the whole season , mainly one striker all term , Mount missed around half the season. Casemiro was injured for about half the season , even Mainoo was injured until later October if memory serves. Our other CMs and CBs been frequently injured as well. We only have one fit CB at the moment. Thats at catastrophic amount of injuries , even more so with our lack of depth / cover ; and absolutely includes those vital to the way we play the likes of Lisandro , Shaw and even Varane whose had less injuries this term but recently RV injured again. We are playing a DM at CB , RBs and CBs at LB. We are down to the bare bones , many of our backups even are not available. Take away Arsenal's starting CB pair , force them to keep running out one striker all season and take away their best fullback for the entire season and see what happens. City take a dip when just Rodri doesn't play , ETH finished above Klopp last term (who is into his 8th season with Pool) which many excused due to "injuries" , but nothing to see with our knocks. Injuries absolutely play a part and have done for us this season ; doesn't tell the whole story but its been a massive hindrance for us.

Yes but so are Newcastle and Howe is getting far more out of what he has than Erik is getting out of what he has. Erik 'still' should be doing far better with the players he has at his disposal. Notwithstanding that, you know the gripes with Erik go deeper than that - his tactics, his transfers... There's a list.

@@richardjones8699 as i said doesn't account for everything and i said ETH may have to go. But what Erik has isn't great even fully fit and rip the heart out of it for most of the season and he's had even less. As of today we are still ahead of Toon on the table and until our recent dip in results we were well clear of them. And since we have no depth either both XIs are quite comparable quality wise despite us overpaying for most of ours. And don't tell me injuries because apparently not an excuse for ETH so can't be for Howe and we've still had more and more critical injuries. And i just think its ridiculous to dismiss the injuries as some people are. I agree ETH is getting some things wrong but i genuinely don't know what people expect with this squad , even more so with the injuries. Swap ETH for any manager we are linked with right now into this current poorly assumed squad lacking runners and technical players and will not be much difference. Bring in even Ange to this squad right now and our squad wouldn't be able to play his way and if they tried would be getting battered. The squad is poor and decimated by injuries. This squad even fully fit can't play good football. The only thing ETH should be doing is parking the bus and playing more controlled counter attack and i am guessing everyone would kill him if he did that as well. But you can't tell me Arsenal for example would be doing as well as they are if their starting CB pair not available for most of the season and had to play a midfielder at CB for weeks , their best fullback basically out the whole season and only had one young developing striker all term. Lets say Rice like Mainoo wasn't available until several months into the season. And many of the rotation options frequently injured as well. I think its very unfair for those who completely dismiss the injuries.

There are plenty of competent Premier League level centre halves and fullbacks playing and available across Europe right now for around the 20-£25m mark. We don't need to spend huge money on defenders with big price tags. We need to spend the bulk of our money on top midfielders to stop the ball coming at our defenders. We need to buy TWO strikers and we need a manager/coach who can actually set up a team to defend And attack.. First order of business should be to get rid of spoilt softies Rashford & Sancho plus problem child Greenwood.. Then get all the sick note types out, starting with Shaw, Malacia, Martial AND Martinez. They are useless to us sitting in the stand. Next up! players with no legs, Eriksen, Casimero & Verane. Then the ones that are simply not good enough. Wan Bissaka, Antony & Lindelof. The jury is still out on Dalot, Amed, Hojlund & Pillestri and one or two others. Unfortunately it will take many windows to clear out all the wasters we are carrying.

Just Branthwaite, Olise (as we need an Antony replacement) and Toney will be £200m+ before looking at any others. So signing 5 players is massively unlikely.

We have Garnacho and Diallo off the right, Mount and Bruno can also play there so Olise is not a priority. We could see anywhere up to 15 players leaving this summer so will need to get some bodies in.

We might not be able to afford Toney but we need a striker as good as him. Notwithstanding that, we patently don't have the money for 5 players.

Ten Hag might be giving them rigorous training. But remember that it's because of their perceived inability to run that, the best thing to happen to Man Utd (solution to all this chaos) that they never knew how to use or appreciate till date, Ralf Rangnick said we need an open heart surgery. That Man Utd need at least 10 players. They are just lazy players who can't cope with Ten Hag's training. If you notice, it's only most of those graduating from the Academy that are meeting that criteria. Remember Ten Hag's exchange with Anthony Martial in Newcastle vs. Man Utd, where Martial refused to chase anything, just 'lazying' about the centre circle. Ten Hag scolded him to chase and he was arguing. Such characters are not needed. They are mostly physically unfit! Even Mourinho said there are three players still at Man Utd that he recommended that they should be sold but are still in the Club till date. Changes are needed
