I think I put four and a half tanks of fuel in the thing during its 460 mile 24 hour rental period. I got 12 mpg a few years ago with a 4 cylinder 1992 corolla that was in perfect shape and cared for by its 1-owner elderly family. I had my friend weld on an exhaust cutout cap right on the exhaust manifold that I would unbolt and leave off every friday night we'd all go to Hooters or something. Best winter beater ever. Manually shifted the automatic and let off the gas to make it sound like a stick, tightened the kickdown pressure cable to make it shift harder and faster. Best winter beater ever. Way more obnoxious than any fart can ricer-modded civic. So much fun. Trying to do donuts in the Hooters back parking lot etc. Yep. 12 mpg. I was as disappointed as I was impressed. The more you know.

8.5mph/sec acceleration really isn't that much in 2023...it's a 7 second 0-60 time. A 4 cylinder Camry does 0-60 in 7.3 seconds, the V6 in 5.8.

I suppose if their Ferrari rental was cheap compared to others like if you want to just putt around town and not experience the full performance. I wouldn't be interested in renting a neutered car, you are paying for an experience rather than getting A to B. I get there's a lot of risk but I think that's why there is expensive insurance and rental rates. The business can't be easy, rob seems to do a nice job of keeping his cars in nice shape and seems to be very fair and enthusiast minded while still keeping it business. I bet some of these other exotic rental company cars are in rough shape and they pump as much money from them as possible.

You also have to take into consideration that its a city u consume more gas due to stop lights and traffic. When I hit New York my gas starts to deplete like nothing due to all the bs traffic and from stopping and going.
