Back in the day we had light gray, dark gray, and black primer for our cars. We used it as a stop rust finish while we saved up for a real paint job. I liked it on my 55 Chevy and 57 Chevy. Not so much today.

You could fiberglass the the cracked valance with some 181 cloth and Epibond 420. 420 is an Epoxy made to stick to plastic that we use in the aerospace industries.

Wheels look cheap tbh. They aren't terrible and it could be worse, but usually you can spot when the wheels are cheap just by looking at their design/finish and this is no exception. Doesn't take a genius to tell that those wheels on AMG GT are much better (ignoring the color difference).

And that right there is the main reason why I would never paint a car a matte sheen. The difference between the rocker and the quarter and the rear bumper are so drastic and quite frankly, the car looks like pure crap now. You have to time it perfectly in between coats when you are doing that type of finish and now, you can’t buff or wax it. Sounds good though lol

I just don't like matte paint. It looks unfinished to me. The bronze rims aren't my thing either, but they are better than gold coloured. I think if you really wanted it to stand out, a colour shift would have been cool. Black to blue or black to a really dark purple would have been epic.

The flat black wouldn’t have been an option for me. Those cars look amazing in high gloss. Satin maybe at the very least. Flat black just looks like someone took out cans of primer and covered up the old paint. The nice thing is that it’s your canvas, not mine. Enjoy that great find and if you sell it I hope it brings you good money.

It may just be the light but it looks like parts of it are darker than other parts. I do feel like the gloss black trim may make it look a lot better maybe some bronze stripes as well. It currently looks like the finish on aftermarket body parts. It could look so much better.

Awesome results on this Corvette. The check engine light is the result of the absence of the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors. Other than that, very nice car.

if im not mistaken i thin the direction of the wheel are off. they should be turning in the same direction. easy fix is to flip either the front pair or rear pair with one another

little tip for the hot stapler, turn it on, once the staple is red hot, then push it in to the plastic, will melt more, faster and will hold better. then, turn it off, and wait till it cools down before removing the heater thing, this way you don't pull the staple out of the plastic

Ok i know he mentioned telling if the car has a dry sump or not. Another way you can tell if you don't know is when it's lifted in the air and you're about to drain it. The oil pan will have 2 drain plugs. One on the side like how this one is. But also there would be one at the front of the oil pan as well. Just incase y'all needed another way to check for dry sump vettes. If it is dry sump: 2 drain plugs on oil pan. If not dry sump: only one like his vette in this video. I work at a chevy dealership so i work on these and see them quite frequently

Personally, I am not a fan of flat or dull finish paint. It reminds me of a dark grey primer finish, which is fine if it's a work in progress, but a Corvette should be shiny.

I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix (yes a v6) and it was straight piped because the cats were cut open and cleaned out welded back together and put in and had no mufflers and MAN was that thing noisy. tons of fun to drive and listen to it cackle though. more fun with a glasspack on it

I remember seeing matte finish on Ducati's back in the late 90's. It struck me as a creative way for manufacturers to increase profit margins while offering a lesser quality finish. I mean, we normally paint things because they are faded flat, right? Matte finish is the thin crust pizza of the autobody world.

The rims are directional and either the fronts or the rears need to swap sides. Its why the front wheels look to spiral backwards from the rears. Personally would swap the fronts. If you got nice sticky tires they are directional too. May need to have the tires remounted correctly to match

The absolutely crazy thing about the sound is that some people would say it sounds great!!! That would be the same people probably that do muffler deletes and stuff like that!! And I always tell um you're corvette sounds like an old truck!! I'm so glad to actually hear someone who feels the same way I do!!
