Hey everyone - thanks SO much for watching and commenting, this has turned out to be one of our most watched videos. It's really appreciated (although I now wish I hadn't recorded the voice over with a sore throat!) If you want to catch-up with more of our adventures on the road, you can do so via our main KZbin page here. This includes road-trips to Portugal, Spain and Scotland including the Outer Hebrides, Shetland & Orkney! (and with slightly better recorded voice over - we're still learning!) kzbin.info?sub_confirmation=| Thanks!

Thanks for watching and the kind comment! ☺️ Hope you enjoy the road-trip as much as we did, it was incredible! (Top tip for hiking with dogs in Ireland - do a little Google beforehand to see if they're dog friendly, some places, due to livestock in the fields, didn't allow them, even on leads!)

Love the farmer blocking the road at 10.47mins,typical farmers we have here in Ireland 😂 our wee country does pack a spectacular punch. Glad you enjoyed it. You picked the absolute nicest side of the country. Over on the east Wicklow is stunning too. Next visit for you both

We missed this comment! We loved Ireland, even the farmers blocking the tracks, ha!

Don't knock the farmers. They were very kind and pulled in to allow us pass every time we toured Ireland.

Mt Brandon isn't the second highest peek in Ireland. It's the 8th highest mountain peek with the highest 7 peeks being found along the Macgillcuddy Reeks mountain range, which is different mountain range found in Kerry

A great vid well done, nicely edited and great commentary. Only criticism is you missed out Co. Clare one of the most unique places in Ireland. With the Burren, a landscape unmatched in the world with unique flora found nowhere else. Also the Cliffs of Moher and Doolin etc. Another thing I noticed is that when touring just so much is missed in inland counties which have incredible treasures to discover and amazing scenery also. If you decide to come back again you gotta do Clare, and go Inland! Enjoy your future travels and thanks for the vid.
@TheseWildJourneys Жыл бұрын
So much more to see and do! We were perhaps naive to think we could do it all in one trip, so had to cut some parts out of our journey. We drove through the Burren and it looked really cool - but you're right, would have been great to go to do more in Clare, visit the cliffs of Moher! And do more inland! (as well as to the east coast too!) We're just going to have to go back! Thanks for watching!

FYI, in Ireland a “strand” is a beach , one of those funny Irish ways of speaking English
@TheseWildJourneys Жыл бұрын
It all makes sense now! 😅 So if I've said Fermoyle Strand Beach, I've essentially said Fermoyle beach beach 😂!
@helenaville59395 күн бұрын
Strand is a much nicer word. It describes a stretch of sand perfectly.

I love the content but I cannot believe you skipped Co.Ckare coast and WWW, some of the most beautiful and unique landscape in Ireland if not Europe in the Burren, not forgetting the beaches, cliffs, food and traditional music. You got to come back. I love the content though.

I know! It's a great shame we didn't. There's just so much to do along the whole route, cutting out Clare was a tough decision! We'll definitely have to come back and give it attention next time! (As well as the countless other places we no doubt missed!)

How did you find it with the dog in tow? We are arriving in Cork to start the route for 3 months in 3 days time. Been doing a bit of preplanning but have come across a lot of bad feeling towards dogs and lots of trails have banned them completely even on leads. Lots of beaches banned too. Did it affect you at all?
@TheseWildJourneys Жыл бұрын
Good question! It required quite a bit of planning - more than we expected. Not so much with beaches, as most of the bigger ones had a seperate area for dogs, but with trails and walks etc we planned ahead by looking on All Trails. From memory the National Parks like Killarney are fine, but it's when some hikes go through "permissive" farmland that they're banned 👎. For pubs etc we phoned ahead to check, some loved em, some didn't let them inside 🤷♂️!
