My theory is it could've been the ring gear in the diff that was stripped, so that means that there is still some teeth left to make it turn sometimes but not enough to make it turn reliably

Hi this is Wil, I think that's pretty cool how in Australia the Winch has a Rope and Still be able to pull a Truck. In America the Winch has a Steal Cable to pull a Truck. I think I like the Rope better!

@11:04 Not keeping your brakes looked up is the key. Everyone else was hard on the brakes and they just slid. letting the wheels turn gives you some control.

Got a driveway made out of that same kind of clay in the rainforest up behind Cairns. Low Four, no brakes to go down, High Four and a some physics to get up it. In the wet it's bottomless gloop, in the dry it's hard packed dust. Still the same old great dividing range up this way, just gets a lot more rain on it for 4 months of the year. Surprised your mate from FNQ Crash & Spares hasn't told you blokes about the Old Cairns Mail track. Have a KZbin search and take a look, it's a monster.
