Come with me and experience the highs and lows of a 48hr solo adventure in The Lake District. I’m humbled by Mother Nature (and a rookie error) on the first night but I more than make up for it with a bushcraft camp and cook on the second!
There are plenty of helpful bushcraft, outdoors cooking and wild camping tips along the way.
This is the first of many videos to come. I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

🤔 leave no trace …
@joehunter_outdoors
@joehunter_outdoors 8 ай бұрын
Fire was raised off the ground so no fire scar and area was tidied when I left. The only trace of me being there is a few thin (dead) sticks pruned off the lower levels of the two trees I camped between and that will have absolutely 0 detrimental effects on the trees. Unfortunately a “bushcraft” style camp does mean leaving a slight trace behind, but as you can see from the done footage, I’m DEEP in a very remote part of the forest and I’d be very surprised if anyone could find where I was camping. I do a huge amount of wild camping and I practice leave no trace but personally I think it just comes down to common sense and doing the best you can.

Hi 😊 Can’t beat wild camping in the Lake District. Shame the journey there wasn’t plain sailing, or maybe it was 🫢 Definitely made the right choice to book into a B&B. Safety must come first.

Totally agree! I’m not really sure what I was expecting to be honest 😂 definitely the right decision, though. If I hadn’t of dried out my gear it would have ruined the second night!

Nice first vid mate! Unlucky with the weather this week….but that’s how the lakes is most days 🤣 It was the sensible move to shelter up when all your kit got wet. Get those poor spuds up on the grill next time!

Congrats on your 1st YT video, and i hope you continue. I, for one, though, would have rather seen you protected from the weather in a tent. I've yet to watch a camping video utilizing a tarp and hammock at night, where the camper doesn't experience some sort of misery. Sending best wishes for a more comfortable camp next time.

Hey Steven, Thanks for the sub & kind comment! I’ve spent enough nights uncomfortable to know when a trip is going south 🫣😂 I’ve got some interesting videos lined up over the next couple of weeks/months. I’m heading out for a winter summit camp in The Lake District this weekend, next weekend I’m hot tent camping with my 5yo little girl, the weekend after I’m heading to Croatia on a winter Highlander thru hike and when I get back I’m home for a few days then heading to Norway winter camping for a week! Really hope you enjoy my future videos 🤜🏼🤛🏼
