This footage was first uploaded in the summer of 2016.
It was presented as four unrelated videos, but for me it was the best walking holiday ever. The plan was to record a week traveling to three national parks to walk and wild camp in each, just to explore and film whatever is round the next bend. I would drive through the night to arrive as the sun came up, sadly the weather was bad and each camp was overshadowed with grey wet and windy conditions but so so dramatic. Back then I was just happy to be out, free to go or stay, loving the adventure.
The Gower Peninsula
Scafell & Wild Camp on Yewbarrow pt1-2
Wild Camp at Gordale Scar
None of these videos are active on the channel anymore due to copyright, in fact the Gordale Scar was used on another channel. YT notified me that it was now under another name, but it was left to me to challenge the channel and get them to take it down but all I could really do was delete it along with all the copyrighted videos, twelve in all.
My decision was to re edit and re upload all twelve, but to edit them as they were originally filmed.
Back then it was all about growing the channel, lots of uploads on a regular. So when it came to the edit of this trip it felt right to separate them, maximise my reach and all that. Them days of ambition and vision are well behind me. Today it's much more about showing an area at it's best, and if the video runs for an hour, so be it. At the end of the day I'm creating digital memories so I'm over the Moon at the chance to look back and have another look, and this time get it right.
In many ways this channel has gone backwards since 2020, kinda lost the momentum and if I'm honest I've known deep down that it's probably over, but getting out with the camera and exploring is not something I'm ready to give up, just yet. New videos are on the way. My summer was spent in the Lakes, and there are three videos to come. These re edits will be uploaded in between just to keep things rolling along. I have another trip to the Lakes planned before the year is out and a trip to Wales in the New Year so I'm optimistic that I can turn it around.

I love your videos Jim, I’m still discovering lots of great places in the Meon Valley thanks to your earlier videos (Bere forest, Wickham railway, Old Winchester hill etc) and get a lot of satisfaction just being out there in nature. Eventually I will venture further afield. All of which inspired by watching your videos so on that note I’d like to say a simple but genuinely meant thank you.🙏

Thank you David, really appreciate that. I was a bit nervous about doing a new edit and upload, gotta be honest, but this trip set the standard for this channel and at the time it felt like the way to go, but once back and involved with the edit just couldn't do it, I had to split it up, but always regretted it. Now that those vids are deleted it felt like the right time to redo it, and I'm over the moon you enjoyed it, thanks again.

Totally agree Aaron, very unique area for sure, almost like going back in time. I walked the whole path back in the spring of 2019 just couldn't get enough. This trip from 2016 was my first visit and the start of my love for Gower. Thanks my friend hope the weather is being kind for the rest of your walk.
