Just bought my second one, MTP. The other one woodland.... love them! Ok, heavyweight, but reliable! Save weight on other parts....the size fits to my using. And bungees too 😉👍

Just invested in an MTP basha. In the Army used to have the old polyester DPM which is a lot smaller than this one but it served a purpose, in addition to a army bivi bag.
@jim-bob-outdoors4 жыл бұрын
The newer ones are a decent size. Works in most applications that I need it to. Thanks for watching. JB.

I always use my DPM basha (smaller than MTP, I heard) when hammocking. It’s just enough even with an XL hammock. You just have to use it in diamond configuration. That way you also only need two pegs.
@jim-bob-outdoors6 ай бұрын
Yes the DPM was a little smaller, still a good cover though.

Lovely video JB. I bought a cheap ebay bash just to get an idea what I could do with it, but the corner tie up loops were very badly done and one loop came off in just a moderate wind, so I learnt my lesson the hard way. I want the British Army DPM and MTP versions one day, as they'll be perfect for stealth camps in my new home of Somerset! You take care mate.

I had 6 years of having to make do with a drab green Army poncho at the end of the Eighties ⚔️🇬🇧, that's why I'm now rocking the DD 3.5 x 4m as a civvy 😍⛺️🏛‼️. Army gear tends to be built to take a beating, time & time again though....🤔

Army gear is known for being well made but, as you say, that means extra weight. Love the bungee cords, often a mistake to tie anything rigid, even in the garden it's a mistake as things snap in the wind, a little bit of give goes a long way 👍 Seeing your bag - I now have one of those, on your recommendation, and it is superb, thanks bro, xx xx
@jim-bob-outdoors4 жыл бұрын
Handy size that bag. Not huge, but you can get a fair bit in it. 😁. xx

Hello Jim, thanks for sharing your video. . I am a little curios about the very best civilian alternatives to the army basha. My preference being a strong bomb proof tarp in woodland green. Any thoughts Jim ? Thanks chap.

Hi Keith. The one I use the most is the DD 3x3 MC. Not too heavy, good camo (can get it plain) and plenty of loops around the edge. Had mine about 3 years and many camps without a problem. Regards JB (Allan).
