Yes, Chris Holmes & Randy Piper! Whenever anyone talks W.A.S.P. they only ever mention Blackie, but Chris & Randy were a solid duo that never got enough credit. The first two albums are fantastic, and The Headless Children is a masterclass in metal. I was very lucky to have seen WASP when they headlined small theaters on their debut album tour. I saw them in January of 1985 at the Tower Theater in Philly. The opening band was one of my then faves, Armored Saint, in all their armor kicking ass. The direct support act, the middle band in this concert was a little band called Metallica! Yep, Armored Saint, Metallica & WASP, and I've read or heard people say Metallica ruled, blah, blah, blah..don't get it wrong. Sure Metallica was young & hungry then, pushing a newer, faster type of metal & they were great; but WASP headlined for the right reasons. The people were there to see WASP. Metallica was a new band, they had just signed with Elektra records and Ride the Lightning was just being pushed to national distribution. Sure, we all know the rest, but on that night they played great, but the Tower was still half empty when they came on. WASP did kill on that night, I was very surprised on how good they sounded live, I expected a sloppier band, but WASP was tight live. Anyways, sorry to hijack your post, I haven't talked about that show in ages! I dig your setup, your tone is great!
