You people don't even know him at all? You don't know her? At all you're. Not in their lives? Every. Day? The bottom line is you're not qualified to judge somebody based off of one video in a scenario where the man gets batted around like a chew toy, regardless of the facts. Didn't they say he is the main caretaker of this child? That tells me something.... My point is that in this situation men feel like no matter what they do, they will lose. More often than not that is the case. People like you judge a man based off of one interaction during a emotional moment in his life. And then you just run with that judgement. It feels to me, like she is toxic and is manipulating this scenario, perfectly

@dan shotguns look, you are correct. Today's society is all about judging without knowing everything. In this case, the main concern I have is why he didn't take his attorneys advice. I understand that he doesn't feel like his side of the story is being heard. However, he hired an attorney for a reason. If he doesn't feel like they are competent enough to relay his feelings to the court why hire them. He dug his own hole on this one.

I am in a very similar case myself. I talked finances and not just visitation exchange as was ordered, however the finances were making visits impossible. They hinged on a massive child support bill to the mother which was not matching our finances (since rectified to the tune of my complaint). I had no home to afford, and she could recind the father's visits if she doesn't approve of the home. I could not afford a home, and this was all things she was stonewalling about and refusing to discuss so it became an argument, but more like a string of emails arguing and pleading to look and face reality and stop it, since it's all on her choice. she can adjust it or remove it at anytime. It was a legitimate issue. Anyway I maintain my innocence, my talk of finances were the expression inside the visitation discussion. I have the freedom to talk about what I can only talk about. I had restrictions of law and court order not my free expression. I did not break the court order, it was a visitation discussion. My lawyer hates me, and refuses to strategize for me, but this video is a PERFECT example of why being contrite is the absolute wrong thing for me to do.

@cambiata

From watching Judge Judy, it seems to me that the people most likely to behave like this are also the most likely to have committed a crime like stalking, throwing punches due to road rage, verbal abuse, etc. Judge Sheinlen even explains it to them directly: your inability to control yourself in a COURTROOM makes it obvious that you wouldn't be able to control yourself with the plaintiff. They're used to letting their rage win things for them, so they don't know how to turn it off when they're in a courtroom where that behavior is a strong detriment. The defendant in this case is trying to use tears to look like a victim, when he wasn't able to control his anger to the point of taunting his ex-wife over text (while she was able to remain silent!) It's obvious to me he's the sort of person who thinks his anger should automatically win every argument.

What did he do that was that wrong? Everyone knows on zoom there's a second delay. The judge needs a quit getting his dingleberries stuck together every time someone talks. If you listen he waits for a pause and starts speaking then the judge says a half a word and start yelling at him. Sometimes it's best if you look at it from both points of view because Simpson is bad about having to be the king. Also judge Simpson punishes you when he gets mad and he can't say otherwise. He does it all the time. Somebody could be in front of him for beating a child and as long as they slob his knob Simpson treats them like gold. But if someone runs a stop sign and says a word while Simpson is talking he'll turn it into a felony.

@Jason Drennen No, when you're told to shut up, you shut up. When the judge pauses between sentences, that doesn't mean it's your turn to talk. Do not speak unless told to by the judge. It's telling when they won't be quiet, send antagonistic messages yet claim to be in fear, are first with tears and stories of woe. My ex-wife had been diagnosed with BPD, and I can affirm its difficulty. It’s not narcissism, at all, even though it looks like it on the surface. The big difference is that BPD sufferers get trapped in their self-fulfilling prophecies - in trying to combat the situations they fear, they end up creating those very situations. In this man’s case, he likely broke his wife’s spirit with neuroticism and then became aggressive with controlling behaviors, which led to the PPO’s, which in his view is just everything going bad for him because no one can understand his POV. That’s why he felt compelled to talk here, against his lawyer’s advice, because he just needed the judge to understand. And by “compelled” I mean a OCD level urge, people with BPD really can’t stop themselves at times.

@@Mr.Vicious Hmm, I'm failing to see how the two examples you used even compare. He has a 'no contact' order where he was told in the first hearing to 'NOT' contact his ex-wife at all and in the second hearing with a different judge, he was to only have contact for emergencies or time sensitive issues for their kids. He used that opportunity to try and trip her up by sending messages outside those guidelines. To me he wasn't trying to get back with her, he was trying to get her in trouble to save himself. He tries to justify his messages it at first, but when that doesn't work accuses the judge of asking the same question differently. After he realises that's also not working, he decides to play dumb, the victim and interrupting the judge. I fail to see how violating two judges orders to prove a point is the same as a woman that returns to her abuser for the 97th time.

Would you then turn to her as she's sobbing in the court room and with cold indifference punish her? No, of course you wouldnt. You'd trip over yourself to excuse the behaviour. I can say (in my heart) I only feel sorry for the defendant, because he felt, he knew more than his attorney. Hopefully, this will be his wakeup call! Never doubt your attorney, just shut your mouth, and let the professionals handle it. Your not as smart as you think! 😖

I know he had everything coming to rain down on him but, still, watching it had me flinching. Simpson don’t play with abusers.

Typical small man narcissist - he spent his whole marriage trying to control his family and when he tries to regain that control the court stomps it out before he knew what hit him.
