A slow roll is when you show your hand at the end. Your opponent knows and has the winning hand but takes a little longer to turn their hand over.
@oldmancannabis3026
@oldmancannabis3026 2 жыл бұрын
@Kazuya Mishima I get what ur saying but I don't think a slow roll is necessarily an angle because it happens at showdown and doesn't influence the action of the hand. A slow roll might get someone tilted so they play worse so I guess it's an angle in that respect. It is poor etiquette if u knowingly do it to a total stranger at a casino and is definitely a dickhead move.

Back when I played limit poker, before the boom, I learned over time that a drunk in the game slowed the game down more than it was worth having him or her there. Especially in stud, where fumbling with their cards takes forever. In NL, if she is tragically bad and loses stack after stack, it can be worth it but it's still a pain in the ass.

The KJ suited call 3 way all in was a 50/50 +EV/-EV call. KJ off suit would have been a fold. A5 was a fold let alone a 4 bet. Your likely up against 55, 66,77,88,99, A9 suited to AJ suited, AQ off suit, KJ suited, KQ off suit, etc. Yes your repping better, but there is a good, ok chance that the board hits his range better then yours. And a 9 on the board, really fits his range. Check call/check fold, bet small, block bet/fold would have been ok, better then shoving, as he could have a 9, or straight draw or both. Yes he was a bad player with 92, but you didn't know that until after the hand, and you played it pretty bad too. Now if you had know he was a bad player like that, then maybe your play would have been ok. But you didn't, and the play was bad. About your flush hand. You had a flush, and a K on board. Your bet was gona cause a fold. Your bet was too big. You either small bet 1/5, 1/4 the pot or check. You were already getting semi agressively raised preflop, postflop, so you probably would have had your flush bet into. And you let them catch up get something callable on river, if they check. Or the might call with marginal hand, on river, because they might not believe your river bet, after a turn check. And it's unlikely that they have a A high flush draw, that might get there on river. The QQ hand. Tho there was reason to think she might probably not have ace, she could still have the Ace or the made flush even tho it's not in her range, and she didn't play it like a Ace, etc. BUT that assumes she is a thinking fish. She is not. She is a drunk. You can't read anything into her play. So altho it's likely she doesn't have the Ace or flush, she could just as semi easily have a Ace or flush as any other possible holding. Calling and reevaluating or check min reraising to try to see if she either calls, small reraise you, shoves, on you, to find out where you are, and to merge that with value betting thin to extract value, while not getting into too much trouble, to where you can fold to a bigger reraise, shove, is the right plays here. If you call reevaluate river. If you check reraise small, then if called, then might be ok, but be careful, and if reraise you small you probably beat, but should still call evaluate river. And if reraise your reraise semi big to all in, then fold. But reraising her all in was bad, because your not going to extract any value because even middle pair, top pair top kicker, etc, is not going to call you. And your only going to be called if your beat. And she could have the Ace or Flush, even if not likely. It's just plain too risky, gambly to shove there. Just call or min reraise, etc, and reevaluate the situation, her, the river, on the river. Altho the T7 suited 3 bet worked, your 3 bet range should be suited connector, 1 gappers like 87, 97, 98, T8, J9,JT, Q9, QT, QJ, K9, KT, A2+, etc, if your going to 3 bet light depending on situation, late position, etc. Hands like 74, 96, T7, etc, are usually bad 3 bet light hands. Wait until you have at least 87, 97, 98, T8, T9, J9,JT,QT,QJ,K9,KT,Q9,A2+ at minimum to 3 bet light with. Except for those mistakes, nice winning session. But do learn from these mistakes and don't regularly repeat these mistakes.

Imho she didnt do much in the hand. She played with her chips. Many regs do the exact same thing and hope to get a reaction somehow. Why are you c betting 40 into 65 on a superdry flop. 20 or even 15 seems a much better betsize.

Yeah since we didn't see her cards we can't make any definitive judgements about her actions or intentions. What if she had a pair of kings shitty kicker and was thinking about calling or raising, then, later (drunk, remember), saw the 2 people still behind her and thought otherwise. Either way, it wasn't a slow roll according to the definition.

Slow roll is different. She was close to what is called angle shooting, moving toward the bet-line with calling or raising chips. Just counting out chips is normal to try to get a read on the other player and not considered bad form. I know drunks are fish, but I don't enjoy playing against them, especially sloppy, loud, obnoxious drunks. If they get bad enough, too much talking during multi way pots, or verbally abusive after hands, I will call the floor even if it makes other players at the table mad. I play to win money, but I also play because I enjoy the game which is hard to do with an obnoxious drunk at the table.

Dude: 1) Learn your poker jargon. That wasn't a slow roll 2) Being intellectual about ranges against rec drunk players (ranges are lost on them in that state and they are playing out of their ass) and shoving when there are 3 hearts on the board is a donkey bet. Sorry but she owned you there 3) You jam with A5 based on a perceived range advantage due to backpack, get felted and trash talk the winner? That is just bad poker. An example of what not to do in that spot.... With A5 there are many combos that beat you on that board And she may have been obnoxious but you went to the table FOR her. So don't handle this like a fish.... Sweet talk and wait for your chance to clean her out and not play into her.... That's why the guy on your right cleaned her out and you didn't.

On the A5 hand where you called a pretty big raise preflop like $50 or more you could just fold their I'm always worried they might have a better race if it at eight flops or stuck in the hand you're really looking to flop a flush draw or 2 pair.. you end up losing your whole stack on a hand you didn't have really have to play.. I like it multiway especially in position if you play hands like that and lose big pots and get stacked that's a difference of winning or losing on the night

The 92 guy may have made a great play depending on your table image. If I see a player opening, and 3 betting a lot on a fairly passive table I mix in some light (Not 92 off light) 3 and 4 bets in the blinds to steal some pots. The fact that you called after the big blind flats would make me remove most of the big pocket pairs from your range. I want to continue strong on flop like this to sell the story of an over pair. When the BB folds, I think his range was most likely Broadway cards removing some of those from your range. So when you call it makes me think you either have pocket pairs like 7s, 8s, 67 suited, 45 suited or some combination of 1 pair plus draw. When I continue on the turn and you shove all in it would feel mostly like a one pair plus draw that picked up equity with the turn such as 45 suited in clubs. My thought would be if this person has a big or nutted hand why would they risk a person that has led out on every street folding to a shove. A normal play for a big hand there would be to call and shove river or if the spr is different you can min click to shove river. Either way I think the call on the turn was correct and the 3 bet from the small blind is understandable. If you 4 bet preflop he probably just folds and you are heads up against the BB who folds to a continuation post flop. The equitable play there is to fold to the 3 bet and determine if the small blind is trying to get tricky or is playing straight up. The reason I say that is your specific hand is crushed in most scenarios of that configuration and you have to hit specific flops to feel comfortable in that situation. Really the only flop that looks good for you is flush or front door flush draw or something like a55.

@@CowSaysMooMoo So on point #1... does it really matter? Like what part of her gave off the vibe that she might suddenly quit the game because somebody was arguing with her? That would be my concern if she was like a quiet fish who's anti-conversation and interaction with anybody. I could make a case that arguing with her is good for the game. She's clearly there to gamble more than to play poker, and she very much seems to want to be the center of attention. If I were in that game, I'd be looking for ways to piss her off AND give her more attention. That means she goes even further on tilt and eventually donks off everything. I play with drunk people at the table all the time. I could count on one hand the number of times I saw a drunk person leave a table, where they were the center of attention, because somebody had a mild argument with them. Giving constructive criticism I want to see you do well. Don't let players get to you as well let them talk there $hit than at the right moments stack them later in the session. I noticed you do get annoyed which is easy to than target you as a player.

@Kazuya Mishima I would have to analyze the hand all over but he didt need to jam with QQs and he didt need to jam with A5 at all.
@wesleykim1758

@Kazuya Mishima Given he is in position, mostly bluffs and vulnerable strong hands. If he had a nutted hand like a straight (~4combos) he would be calling down given he has position and just raising or betting river. With say trips (~10combos), 2pair (~2combos), overpairs (~12combos), and bluffs (alot) which can have given he flatted 3bet pre, you want to raise to deny equity from gutshots and maybe get a crying call from top pairs given SPR. He may also have some flush, gutshot, and double gutshots here that will play this way if he knows he can get his opponent to fold with pressure, though any flush draw or combo draw is essentially gets good odds, but at least it prices out single gutshots and OESDs with no flush draw

In Mandalay Bay 2 weeks ago I had A/9 suited and had a guy call my $90 3 bet out of position. Flop was A 2 3 Rainbow. He bet $75 and I called. Turn was a K, he bet $100, I jam, he turned over 4 5 offsuit. Lol. Happens....

I don't understand the logic of the QQ hand toward the end. You 3 bet big because you knew the villain calls big bets with light holdings, but then try to bluff her off a wet board with a big bet.

Interesting, entertaining vlog. A while back I played with the male version of that woman. The woman on my right made a questionable call against the guy who was berating others at the table. She made her hand and he went crazy.

It’s not a slow roll to tank fold. It’s really not even bad etiquette to tank fold unless you are doing it every hand and wasting everyone’s time. I am not even sure what you were upset about in that hand? People like her are a dream to have in a 2/5 game. I think she was annoying for sure and you let her get to you.

True, though in this case, she's tank folding with players behind and is clearly just wasting everybodies time.

Once u check flop and turn on that hand you NO LONGER have the best aces in your range, while she may check back many weak aces in her range. I am commenting this before watching til the end of the hand

I love this channel! Thanks! People like that do not make poker a fun experience for the average recreational player! Obviously a strong amateur or a pro will be happy to have her in the game but she'll just turn off many social regulars who'll donate their money to the slots instead. What's the good of that?
