A short cinematic showcase of a woodland in England at it’s best in springtime. This wood in North Somerset is at it’s best right now - it’s floor carpeted with Allium Ursinum (wild garlic) and it’s ceiling a vibrant green of unfurled beech, sycamore, oak and ash leaves. A pet project to try and get the best possible footage from my Canon EOS R using my existing EF lenses. The dolly shots were filmed using a 100cm digislider (a UK built camera slider).

Camera: Canon EOS R
Lenses: Canon EF 50mm f1.8
Canon EF-S 24mm
Sigma 10-20mm

👍thank you. You can eat em too... (well the leaves anyway) just as many nutrients as spinach. Only a couple of months away till this happens again.

Cheers Wim, it's very short lived... when it flowers it's amazing, then about 1 week later, it's gone and the leaves dies back. Timing is everything! Greetings from a soggy England this morning.

Nice one Mark, as you probably know it makes a great extra salad leaf to munch on, Pesto also is a favourite of mine. My thoughts are turning to the Wye, I'm itching to get across there for an extended canoe camping trip when this wretched lockdown is over.

@@MrAndyballard Yeah I do know Andy - munch on enough when out and about - gives me energy. I bet your thoughts have been gravitating towards the flowing waters of the Wye mate. I wanna get in there and out there to. See you on the other side of this thing.

@@WyeExplorer For sure, I'll give you a shout if/when I do a Wye trip this summer (fingers crossed) as it would be really good to say hello to a kindred spirit. Stay healthy Mark!

@@MrAndyballard Yeah Andy, I wouldn't overstay either - a good hello will do it. A brew and a chat! We can always paddle some other time. Look forward to that.

Just found your channel . Great work. Trying to get into this sort of filming myself. I also live in Bristol so same area. KZbin does amaze me, theres such good work out there like yours. But then so little of it seems to get viewed . Its really hard tying to grow a channel

Cheers Chris. There's no rhyme or reason to YT... it puzzles the hell out of me too. There's so much narcissistic, pointless vlogging out there (and much of it not particularly well produced either) and yet it gets gazillions of views, go figure as the yanks say. I just do what I love and if it gets appreciated then that's good with me. I get commercial work also, so YT does help as a sort of online portfolio.
