Here's a anothe idea for hunting knives: They increase the chance of getting a speecific part. base on the element of the knifee and sharpness
@stormerjc94939 ай бұрын
I love every single idea here, they are all brilliant and I would love to see them implemented, guess il share 11 of my own ideas 1. First off I want the old gen 1/2 subspecies to be reworked into basically shiny pokemon, so say one in every 20 rathians you hunt has a chance of being pink, it's not a separate monster it has the exact same materials and fight but mabye you'd unlock the ability to recolour the armour to be the pink colour scheme, this way we can cut down on roster bloat by only having only subspecies that acutaly matter and are different enough, it can help break up the monotonous grind with a ohhh look this one's pink, and it means these old subspecies still get to there in a capacity, and this could be extended with some monsters being slighty brighter or duller which when combined with different sizes makes every monster a individual and can be a way to put in some colour morpths from the lore like blue and blond nargacuga 2. Small mobster subspecies, it's been too long since white Velociprey, I'd like to see small monster subspecies like plum hermitar or copper Blango 3. I want to see more environmental effects but be biased in favour of the monster that evolved to live there, for example In the desert there could be a sand storm that impairs your vision but diablos just don't care what so ever 4. I want monsters to be designed like puzzle boxes rather then just a simple dps boss fight where you just slap it till it dies but have specific strength and weakness you need to learn how to work around and exploit by learning the monster, for example Gravious is a giant armoured tank who doesn't have great hit zones and loads of health, how do we get around that? By using bombs, blast weapons or environmental explosive rocks to crack him open like a nut to get access to those juciy bits underneath and he will go down super easy once that happens 5. I'd love for elder dragons to function like they did in old games with the whole repel mechanic to make it feel like your chasing this dragon across the continent and build a true rivalry with it 6. I want them to build on the turf war system, first and foremost by not copy pasted them like in world and actually look at the strengths and weakness of both monsters rather then just higher rank beats lower rank unless it's a egdelord monster, there's also a wider issue of letting monsters roam everywhere instead of giving them strict habitat preferences and sticking to them which is what causes a roster to feel bloated and for turf wars to become copy pasted 7. I want us to be able to inflict elemental blights onto the monster using our weapons obviously this would be effected by how weak the monster in to the elements like your just not going to put thunder blight on Kirin no matter how much thunder damage, I think this would encourage us to actually build for element weakness 8. I want not all but some monsters to get the extreme blights from frontier, it be a great way for the game to be difficult is ways that isn't just a machine gun of one shots or AOE spam, like Khezu for example could have extreme thunder blight which without changing anything makes him a huge threat suddenly, he doesn't need to hit hard when 2 thunder attckas back to back will give you a heart attack 9. I want sword and Sheild to get its oils back and be kept as a permanent addition to SNS, mabye expand it a little to things like elemental oil ontop of the minds eye, part breaker, affinity, razor sharp oil of GU 10. I want a more large monsters on a map in a way that's sensible, so rather then only ever having 3 monsters on a map there can be many, for example in the forest and hills mabye there's 3 or 4 Velocidrome around the place with mabye 2 or 3 yian kut ku, mabye a astalos or a yian garuga in the corner and at least 1 if not both raths are always present at the nest up top, but you'd never get like 6 rathalos cuz that would be ecologically stupid 11. Finally I want a complete restructuring of the quests system, so rather then what we have where it's do quest back to camp to quest repeat, if like to be able to accept Mutiple quests together as a bounty system, like I could accept a mushroom gathering and a herb gathering quests, mabye a small monster slaying quest and a hunt a rathalos quests and I could complete them all in the feild as I see fit rather then going back and forth for every quest
@BakeNation_MH9 ай бұрын
These ideas are awesome! We really like the idea for extreme blights to make their way to mainline and being able to complete multiple quests in one go. We haven't played frontier before, but we are aware of the extreme blights that are in it. We always thought they looked fun to play around as they added an extra challenge. As for completing multiple quests, that just sounds like a great quality of life change, especially if more than three monsters can appear on the map simultaneously.

Fantastic video, I love the energy between you two, and the editing is on point especially for such a small channel, y'all deserve more love... anywho here are my thoughts on some of your ideas: - Idea #2 : I like the reworked blights that you mentioned especially the Ice Blight one, having it slow your movement is such a good simple idea that I'm surprised it's not a thing yet - Idea #3 : I'd rather have a post hunt statistics screen that includes total damage done for both Raw and Elem damage (tho that might be too sweaty for MH :P) - Idea #4 : I actually don't want them to remove infinite restocks, we don't know anything about how the maps will function in Wilds but if we assume that it's Semi-Open World and that the distances between camps are massive that going back and forth between them would be time consuming, in that case you can store a limited number of items in your mount for quick access mid hunt while still keeping the infinite restocks at camp if you're willing to make the trip (ofc there will probably be fast travel but going back to the monster would take a while) - Idea #7 : I think they should just go back to the way World did it, the only reason Rise did the "burst" was to compensate for the fast pace of the game - Idea #8 : I also want a meld of the Old system and the New one but in a different way, instead of the way you mentioned it I want it to mostly work the way it did in base World BUT for every point in a skill that you slot in you get 2 effects, one is positive and the other is negative, so say for example you slot in Attack Boost 1 that will give you +5 raw damage BUT it will also give you -1% affinity, and it will stack with every level, say then that you want to counteract the negative affinity so you slot in Expert 1 which then gives you +5% affinity BUT your sharpness decreases 2% faster, so your like oki imma slot in Handicraft 1 so you get 10% more sharpness BUUUUT you also get -2 raw damage... and so on you get the idea, this would be a fantastic way to balance some of the more absurd skills as well, like imagine Weakness Exploit where when you slot in 1 point that'll give you the usual +20% damage on weak parts BUT if you attack non-weak parts you do -20% damage or even better your sharpness decreases 20% faster or something along those lines

Cosmetic knives is fine, but there should be no in game difference, the knives are made of an EXCEEDINGLY RARE metal, as they don’t need to be sharpened, and they are given to hunters upon being officially cleared for duty, so they are not made in batch quantities, and they are sharp enough to pierce ANYTHING, as they pierce the strongest hides like a lightsaber

Regarding the restocking items thing, I would make it so the handler could return to home base while you're out on the field and retrieve items for you and stash your spoils while they're at it. They'd be gone a while and would only be able to carry so many items, so it won't help you in a pinch. It would allow you to potentially run out of items if you're not careful, but also enable obscenely long expeditions for anyone who wanted.

about the damage indicators; there's another improvement I want them to do, and it's to account element when determining the color of the damage indicator. There are some monsters where a part thats bad for raw damage is the best spot to be hitting with elemental weapons, especially on a weapon type like Bow or DBs, but since it's not considered a raw weak spot, the numbers are gray instead of the usual gold, despite being optimal damage. EDIT: Got through the rest of the video; while I do think the armor system needs a change, it's in regards to *slots* rather than how the points work. Right now, sockets effectively act as an additional 2-3 skills, depending on the armor piece. Ditch the level system tied to each slot and instead make sockets go back to the old system where instead of decorations requiring a slot of a specific level, they instead require a specific number of empty slots to be socketed into the piece of gear, with the skills that have higher effects (or provide more points) consume more slots.

- I would change Wind Blight to deflect our attacks more often like Kushala wind and Lunastra fire, also depleting the sharpness faster. - I would love if the "Paliraptor" aside we can have more than one mount for different environments that we have to capture like endemic life - no deep underwater combat, but shallow water combat, and we don't have to swim, use our mounts to move out of water(that connect with having more than one type of mounts), but if you drop in the water you will be vulnerable until get to your mount or safe place

My idea is weapon called "Hand Canon", kinda like Gun+lance, but it's really Gun and melee It's blunt type weapon where u need melee monster first to recharge Canon gauge and u can use canon to fire that cost gauge u charge from using melee to hit enemy Pro is having good blunt type dmg to stun enemy and fast drain stamina and Canon who deal great dmg and easy to stagger flyers type enemy But Con is like Gunlance, using Ranged mode/canon not only cost special energy ammo (use different type ammo like Bow vs Bowgun) and canon Gauge, but also decrease Sharpness on every shot especially wyvern shot like Gunlance

It seems like your Layered Armor system is a slight variation of the Transmog system from GU, where you had to craft the actual armor to and have it layer on top of your actual armor.

I like the idea or Elemental damage separation this will make us see what else need to improve on stats. as for sharpness/sharpening weapon I like your idea but I would like to see more something like this: Ability to have stationary sharpening and walking sharpening (depends on how heavy the weapon), the stationary sharpening will give big increase the on sharpness while walking sharpening will give slow increase on sharpness. or make a ultimate sharpness that will hold for 30min. I also like your idea on Layered armor but some I know will be pissed of with this because some really want layered to be rewarding to the end game. I don't necessarily see it as being Raw+, more along the lines that it would add two new elemental weaknesses to the monsters that the hunters could exploit. I wish fans of older MH titles would just play the game the way they want it to be without wanting to force everyone else to play that way. The game doesn't force you to use the camp. You never HAVE to use the canteen if you forget to eat before a hunt. You don't HAVE to restock items or change equipment at camp. You can limit your whetstone and pickaxe usage if you choose to do so. It's possible to play the game the way you want it to be, but why are you so hell bent on making that the ONLY way to play the game? Edit: Your Whetfish idea already exists in World. Edit 2: No to knives as equipment. We don't need secondary weapons to grind for. No to knives as paid DLC. NO NO NO NO NO!!!! Capcom has already gotten out of hand with the overwhelming amount of paid cosmetics. Do NOT give them the idea for paid EQUIPMENT. I truly believe the only paid DLC should be expansions like Iceborne and Sunbreak, things that are actually WORTH paying for.

The whetstone rework is akin to frontier different whetstones without the percentage and I do like it quite a lot. The same for the raptor camp rework which is what i am hoping for instead of unlimited access to your stock of supplies which trivialized the preparation for the hunt. Layerd armor should be something that you shoyld work for instead of having easier access to it onece you kill a monster. In Worls many layers armor from full armor sets and regular armor sets where rewards from the Arch Tempered Elders so Wilds should have something similar but a tad less extreme cuz Arch Tempered Lunastra was unholy even if i did beat her after a fair amount of carts. One thing I hope Wilds brings back is how the npcs refer to your hunter. In world they called your hunter he or she depending on your hunters gender which helped with imersion and with humanizing your hunter. In Rise all npcs have their names and are unique which i really liked but ypur hunter qas referred to as they all throughout the game which kinda ruined the immersion especially since the kamura hunter was there for all his/her life and he/she knows them all by heart. Anyway good stuff i really like the way you think keep it up

I got an idea for the reduced items during a hunt. Now i dont really agree with the idea of just losing items just like that. Imagine a player is fighting a monster who's actually pretty difficult to them and they burn through all their items. Now most would probably say “git gud” which, lets be honest, thats not a really supportive way to tell someone to improve in my opinion. Anyway i was thinking of a sort of “SoS system” where if you're low on items you can fire a flare for a supply drop. This supply drop can be used as much as you can cart, 3 times. Each with a different loadout. maybe you can request a few items for them to drop down with whatever items they give you, say you need some nullberries to handle a few blights. They drop them with first aid meds and other things. Each loadout has enough items to fill one row of slots in your pouch, seeing how drastically they reduced the size of it in this video. And the cool down for each SoS is 15 minutes, so make those items last. I feel this could be a great way to have less frustration on the players side of things if the player is frustrated at all. I have a feeling that games should be fun, not torture, so this SoS item system would be a great addition. And before you say anything, yes i know this was part of at least one of the older games, i would just like to see this mechanic return, revamped and polished.

So many of your ideas seem like steps backwards. Creating different versions of whetstones, pickaxes, etc just undoes the streamlined optimization the franchise has worked towards while simultaneously increasing to the ever growing bloat of essential items hunters have to carry, in turn leaving less room for gathered materials, one of the main focuses of the game. I understand you want to preserve the old game feel in some way but it's better to leave those concepts in the past. It's not as if those games disappeared, if players want to experience it they can continue to play the older titles. Accept the franchise has evolved rather than trying to live in the past. Same goes for the hunting knife concept, just like wanting different whetstones it only serves to make an already grindy experience EVEN MORE grindy while making an absolutely minimal difference to gameplay. Consider this: why ask the developers to go through the effort of coding in several different whetstones when the only ones people will want to use are the best ones, along with creating hundreds of different hunting knife models, where again the only ones anyone are going to use will be the best ones, leaving hundreds of hours of work relatively pointless. All these ideas do at the end of the day is punish players that can't or simply don't want to have to sink precious time into things that aren't the focus of the game, like fishing for the best whetstone. That's not to say all your ideas were terrible though. Your rework to the armor system and especially the camp were spot on and would make excellent changes in order to restore some aspect of difficulty and resource managment to being in the field.

I think the normal armors should be able to be used as layered armors
@alessandrocrociani37638 ай бұрын
hear me out: what if they added a status like stun but that disarms you after a big hit from a monster and the weapon stays there , and in order to regain it you have to pick it up. This could add a use to hunting knives sice now they can be used while you are unarmed and you have to forge new knives to deal more damage like you said. In some weapons it could act like a second sword (like sns or dual blades when you lose one sword you would have the same moveset but with less damage output) and in other weapons when you lose them you draw out the knive wich has a different moveset. the status will be applied 100% of the times if you get hit by a big attack like novas or big explosions or attacks that send you flying and 75% of the times after a lvl 4/5 knockback but you can decrese this numbers with a skill named solid grip (or whatever) that decreases the chances of getting disarmed on each lvl respectively by 10% lvl.1, 25% lvl.2, 50% lvl.3, 75% lvl.4 and at lvl.5 you'll never get affected by the status. obviusly the knives will NEVER get a major damage output compared to the normal weapons but you can still use it as a main weapon if you go in a mission without a normal one. if you finish a mission without your weapon you will temporarily lose it unless you start another mission in the same area and retrive it or you can send some felynes express to retrive that weapon instead you of doing it manually, but this will take like 2 to 3 missions.

@BakeNation_MH agreed, but I was concerned for a second there, haha, I was gonna say you'd have to be a maniac to bring that system back. Since that made it so, you had to farm twice as much materials for a gunner and blade master set if you tend to change between the two types for certain hunts. Given that some hunts are easier with a bowgun or bow than a melee weapon(namely flying monsters), which is alleviated from clutch claw, etc, at least to make them manageable. I don't like the sharpness mechanic a lot, why would you ever need 75% sharpness? I high play you never go below white which would probably be just fine with the hunter stone
@BakeNation_MH7 ай бұрын
That’s fair. I guess the main point is that we just wanted to see sharpening do something with every swipe of a whetstone as opposed to needing to go through the whole lot of animations to see any sharpness increase.

Honestly I don't think it should be that easy to get Layered armor. It should still have a hold on the traditional gameplay loop of Monster Hunter. I like the idea of having to hunt the monster for its parts to craft the set, but getting the transmog/layer should be rewarding and an achievement regardless. Monster Hunter Frontier had its transmog crafting locked behind a given monster's rare drop. By requiring the players to spend a certain number of rare parts to craft a layered set, you're ensuring that they'll have to hunt that monster numerous times in order to EARN the fashion option.
@BakeNation_MH8 ай бұрын
Layered armor is currently easier to get in Sunbreak than the normal armor sets. Believe us when we say we WANT really high material requirements for things such a layered armor, but that’s simply not going to happen. That’s why we thought this method of getting layered equipment would be a medium between needing materials in order to unlock it and still having the sense of earning it.
@fenison44307 ай бұрын
To me, the solution is simple, whenever you want to craft a piece of armor (or even weapons if they wanted to) the game would ask you if you want to craft the set armor version, or the layered armor version, that way, if you want a new armour set for the skills, you can just get the set version, and if you want only the visuals of the armor set, you'd get that too with the layered armor, and i personally think it would encourage the good kind of grind in these games even more, since right now, a player goes to the smithy, sees a cool armor set, but realises it has shit stats, so they don't bother getting it, with this system they would still be incentiwised to hunt that monster down a few times to be able to wear their armor set without having to worry about the stats being bad. This all would of course require this mechanic to be available *from the beginning* of the game, since the way it is now, it's DUMB that you can't get any layered armor unless you reach endgame, and by that point most people have already finished the game, so there's no point in playing anymore. Alternatively, the game would require you to craft the set armor first, but then the second time you craft it, you get the option of either crafting another set version (for some reason idk), or the layered armor version, this would encourage even more grind for the sweet sweet cool factor.

Elemental damage indicators I think its too mutch on screen. I want to see monster weapon and blood nothing else. Maybe option in menu. But you need to turn it on . So beginer players will not see it at first.

Ngl i didnt really agree with a lot of these (but it's your opinion, have fun) but I really like the idea of the knives. I do NOT like the idea of them being paid DLC. I think having such a feature locked behind a paywall is insane. Paid DLC should be cosmetic only
@BakeNation_MH8 ай бұрын
The knives weren’t going to be paid dlc only. Every hunter could craft a knife for a monster similar to crafting the weapons. Paid DLC knives would be simply cosmetic, but have some really cool/unique designs.
@Dastardly_Duo8 ай бұрын
@@BakeNation_MH yea I think that might be cool honestly. Like a freeze effect on your knife or something. Btw what's your thought on if it'll be open world or not? Or if it SHOULD be?
@BakeNation_MH8 ай бұрын
That's a tough one honestly. Capcom has been extremely experimental with recent mainline titles, so it would not be a surprise if they went the route of open world. In terms of if it should be? No clue honestly. They probably would have needed to complete extensive market research to see if that would be an optimal design choice for the game given the current player base. We are certainly not against them trying an open world format, but it would be a large risk given their current formula is successful enough as it is. Hopefully we'll be able to get more news surrounding this topic come the summer. @@Dastardly_Duo

I know a lot of people don't want this but get rid of sharpening and sharpness in blunt weapons, "what about the melee multiplier" just make it like gunlace shells or something where you have varying levels of shells for different multipliers for your blunt attacks, yes can also be affected by skills, sharpening hammers/HH is just silly to me. Also, make blunt attacks in sharp weapons not affect sharpness like the shoulder tackle of GS or shield bashing with SNS.
@BakeNation_MH9 ай бұрын
hmm, you make a very good point. Not exactly sure how sharpening a blunt weapon makes it bonk harder XD
