"Celebrities," like the one you just described are a dime a dozen. You might as well be bragging about meeting Lassie, Anissa Jones, Cindy Eilbacher, or Cher. When you meet a STRATOSPHERIC SUPERSTAR like the one and ONLY DIANA ROSS, then you can brag. 🤭😒😏😒

@@ronrossmore211 "...Celebrities like the one you just described are a dime a dozen..." - A totally unnecessary remark. Irregardless of how "stratospheric" they may or not have become they still managed to catch lightning in a bottle whereas I've NEVER heard of your name until I read it just now. Think about it...LASSIE is more famous than you are.

Huge fan of the show and everyone involved in it, but in the 1990s when I read about Burt's customized dog food and heard everything he said about the main name-brands, I knew Burt was the real deal. He's one of those stars who definitely earned our respect and appreciation. Thank you for sharing.

1-2 years extra with your dog is already something very dear. 10 years extra? If he managed that then he saved a lot of human lives too! At the very least he added a lot of love and joy to the world. I guess finding the right woman is the trick after all.

I'm gobsmacked. As a child of the 60s and 70s, the Batman TV series played a huge part in my afternoon life. It was a brilliant show. It still brings joy to me in adulthood because a lot of the innuendo and jokes were directed toward adults. Much like many modern-day cartoon series. I never really followed the lives of the actors but always had respect for them. Knowing that Burt and his family have rehomed over 14000 dogs AND developed a nutritional pet food fills me with joy. How frikking cool is that?

@@CoolClassics I remember watching Batman and Robin 1srt coming on channel 6 , in Philadelphia , Pa. In September of 1965 , with the Riddler the first episode. By spring of 1966 , I got tired of seeing these tightly clad buffoons doin zapowees and clabam, and puff, and bash, and clabam as they fought ThePenquin , Cat Women, Mr. Freeze, The Joker, The Egg head, The book worm, and a plethora of weird criminals. What a laugh. Too bad the Vietnam War was raging on.

I remember both Adam West and Burt Ward making an appearance at a newly opened Big Bear grocery store in Columbus, Ohio in the early to mid 80s. They were signing autographs so I stood in line for about 2 hours hoping for an autograph. I had brought with me a Batman T-shirt to be signed. Just I got within 3 people to meeting them, a voice came over the PA saying "Adam West and Burt Ward has stopped giving autographs". Loudly I made a point that I had driven over 100 miles, and stood in line over 2 hours hoping to get an autograph. Adam West heard what I said and told me to give him the shirt. He signed the T-shirt and then passed it to Burt Ward to sign. After over 35 years I still own that shirt and will always cherish it over many other autographs I have.

I remember getting an autograph on a picture way back when. Adam West was awesome but Burt Ward was stuffing his face with popcorn and even though he was signing autographs his demeanor was so dismissive. Made a huge impact on me as a kid and how I viewed him. Probably 45 years later, give or take and I remember it vividly.

I met Burt a couple of years ago, he was the parade Grand Marshall in the hometown we share. He drove is personal batmobile. The parade ended at a small festival where he parked and signed 8X10 glossy photos and was happy to interact with the people. He and his wife almost seemed to still be in puppy love with each other. Very happy to see that. A funny side note, after the event he just drove his batmobile home.

I was only 4 years old when Batman first aired, but I remember always wanting to stay up to watch it. The only way my mother would let me was if I went to bed and took a nap an hour before the show and she would come to my room just before it started to wake me. I don't know the time of evening it was, but I remember making no fuss about it cause it was worth it to me to be allowed to be up after regular bedtime to watch my favorite show. I also remember playing 'Batman' with my friends and we'd tie bath towels around our necks for capes and sing out the theme tune as we were running around the house . . . . . thanks for the upload, you brought back some locked away memories.

I myself have Senior Dogs. My boxer is 13 her name is Baby and I have a dachshund pug mix his name is Buster. Buster is the most stubborn dog as the breeder was just throwing things together pugs and dachshunds are one of the hardest headed dogs there are hahaha. I was so pleased when the entirety of the show was released as a DVD box set - I adored it as a teenager and we all loved the knowing humour. The great thing about the character of Batman is it is open to multiple different interpretations by filmmakers.

I liked how you ended the video! Thanks! I was 7 years old when Batman debuted. I watched as much television as I could in the 60s. They would also play the 50s shows as well, so I would watch The Adventures of Superman and I Love Lucy, etc... I have great memories still.

In the auditions, they made the right choices. Adam West has a more serious tone to him over Lyle Wagoner, which is more like Batman who can be serious and brooding. Burt Ward also had a better audition in your demo reels than the other actor for the part, for his enthusiasm and quite the performance fighter. Awesome video, I watched it to the end! Glad to see Burt had a great life overall ( a few bumps here and there)! Here's to TV's first Robin... BAM! ZAP!

Batman wasn't serious and brooding in the 60s. He became serious and brooding in the 80s, but even then, Robin became so before him. Seriously, just read New Teen Titans some time. Literally all the Titans think Batman is a toxic if not outright abusive influence on their leader. And that's pre-Crisis! Post-Crisis, Batman gets to join in on the depression. Batman was more serious in the early years, 30s and 40s. But that was ended because of Fredric Wertham.

I was in 2nd grade when Batman came out and I loved it and Green Hornet too. And the cars! From the Munsters Koach to the Monkee Mobile GTO. No real weapons in Batman, so innocent, punches were covered by a POW! ZOK! BOFF! or some such silly graphic. But it still seemed like heroic feats to a 6 year old that didn't know the camera was turned sideways for wall climbing and window cameos. The 60's were a great time for a kid to watch television! I've seen Adam West in cartoon form on Family Guy right up until his passing and he is so missed. I never knew much about Burt Ward so thank you for all the stories and gosh, it's wonderful that he's found lasting love and happy family and is helping improve the lives of animals.

Good for Burt ! I'm glad to hear what he's done to help with nutrition and large dogs, helping them to live longer lives. I'm a cat person myself. I have 3 indoor/outdoor cats. I was told that lifestyle would cut down their lifespan, But I've been careful about their food and nutrition The oldest is over 20 and the others over 10, healthy and happy. Nutrition makes a huge difference in a pet's lifespan.

@@CoolClassics The 60s Batman series was the worst take on Bob Kane's creation ever made. The 40s serials were good but it was Christian Bale that made Bob Kane's vigilante character come to life..And no Robin. The Robin character hasn't been in the latest films either. Ben Affleck about sunk the whole character. There's a new one coming out soon. But it will fail because instead of setting the character in a future world, they need to set it in the 1940s and lose Robin.
