My Catholic, former altar boy, son tried mushrooms ONCE. Whatever he saw, he won't even talk about, except to say that he will NEVER them again. It scared the hell out of him, Thanks be to God!
@clamum9648 Жыл бұрын
I've done shrooms several times and only had great experiences on them. Although one time was pretty... weird. I was with a bunch of guys and everyone took them, maybe a half dozen people in all. The lights were pretty low and that can play tricks with things (visually) when you're on mushrooms. I was thinking one guy kinda looked like a demon (his face) and one guy like a goblin, but I didn't say anything. Then someone else said out loud exactly what I was thinking and others chimed in that they saw the same thing. LOL it might not sound like much but it was like we were all thinking and seeing the same thing, which is pretty crazy imo. But those were in my drugs days. If you're a person with a sound mind, in a safe place, and you don't take ridiculous amounts, I dunno, I think they're ok. Not something I'd do often though.

Alternate title: Brett teaches Michael about pop culture for an hour
@ozdawizz Жыл бұрын
I like how Michael does explain his point, he will not make me a "believer", but that's ok, I like how although he leans more into religious aspect, he does it in a way I don't feel ambushed. In every conversation I am really happy to hear someone's opinion, even if it contradicts mine, but if someone from the start says I hear I am "wrong and here is why" from other person lips this is where my wall is going up. More people should talk like them, presenting their arguments calmly, it may not be always best argument, or good enough to convince someone, but the way you say it, it tells a lot about you. I heard 2 "saings" in regard to talking that are gold for me (a lesson from my elders). Translated from Polish: "Often it's better to not say anything and appear smarter, than to say something and dissolve any doubt" which literally means if you have nothing valuable to say, it's better to keep quiet. And other, which is "Make your arguments strong, not loud." Which is related to what I wrote earlier, if your arguments have substance, more or less they will stand. If they are only loud (like the activists) they will fade and be forgotten, this is why they "remind" society about their presence so often, cause they need to fuel it with repetition, to not be forgoten, cause they often lack substance.

When I tripped, I read the Bible, learned to hone myself, and found order in my life. I love it when Jordan Peterson speaks. The man is simply articulate and profound as a thinker and observer. The Exodus talks are pretty thought-provoking. Anyhow, tripping isn't necessarily a thing to be tested. It is good when you come out on the better side of things with the experience.

There are nuances to the marriage question! I was over 30 when I married, not because I chose not to, but because I had not met anyone I wanted to marry, or anyone who would ask me! I dated a few guys, but would not settle for them.

I had my brother ask it about Trump. It refused to say anything about him. So I then had him ask it about Biden. And boy did it have so many nice things to say😂

Having a drink every now and then is not “in the drinking crowd” in my opinion. I have a drink every now and then but I would not consider myself someone who goes out all the time to go drinking or drops $100 a night on drinks.I’m actually shocked by how often some of my coworkers go out to drink, sometimes 3-4 times a week. That’s definitely no where near having a drink every now and then.

As a single 38 year old male, never married, I can assure you that it definitely is something that's a problem with me and not the women I've dated.
@Yulia.chandrika Жыл бұрын
But I think they don't understand that just because you are unmarried now doesnt mean you will be forever. With every failure you can learn what was the problem there and what to change. They don't get that people try to improve themselves and solve whatever is stoping them from having a happy relationship My parents married on their late 30s and have been happy for decades. My mother always tells me she chose abusive man before my dad, because she had a selfsteem problem and because she had traumatic childhood. She went to therapy to work on that , she didn't say " all man are bad" she recognized that you have to look at yourself first and see what is creating that. After some years of therapy she met my dad and had 3 kids. I think as long as you don't blame the world for your own issues, there is always hope because in part I believe the reason we are alive to become better and better as a person, with time. I like the values of conservatives but the only thing I don't like is that they have their box and if somebody doesnt fit in they immediatly dissmiss that person, without understanding that things are more complex sometimes Unmarried doesnt mean " she hates marriage she is a career woman she is a feminist" or " he is an ashole and a bad husband a loser". My mother is spanish and she is not a career woman not a feminist at all always wanted marriage and to be a housewife. My cousin married late too because when he was younger he had some problems with drugs, so he made a way better partner later on in life than at 30 for sure. That is what they don't understand and this kind of views which completely cast out anyone who maybe had simply some difficulties in life, are not helpful at all I think

I’ve been a licensed driver since March 1992. I don’t even have a parking ticket on my record. I’m a MUCH better driver than my husband who has been driving for a lot longer than I have. I only use coconut oil or jojoba oil on my face…to wash it. No need for moisturizers, and it removes dirt and dead skin cells. Don’t strip your skin with soap. It will produce more oil to compensate if you strip it with soap. I didn’t get married until 32…because I wasted 18-25 with the wrong guy.

41:20 I actually have a theory about the 'They love each other, Joey' story where it MAY be based on something that actually happened, but within the past few years Joe has updated it to fit with the times (and probably believes his current version by this point, because that's what pathological liars do -- they tell the same lie so many times they no longer remember if it was ever true or not). But here is my theory -- Joe and his dad saw an INTERRACIAL couple kissing, not a gay couple. In the late 50's/early 60's small town America, an interracial couple would be "odd" enough to get noticed, but not SO scandalous that someone who is not a Klansman wouldn't be willing to just let them be. So, Joey and Pops are driving along, see an interracial couple kissing, Joey notices, looks over at Pops for his reaction, and Pops says "It's simple, Joey. They love each other" and they go on about their business. That's actually believable. Seeing two men kissing each other in the late 50's/early 60's small town America? Not so much.
