I literally did the exact same thing when I got my blood work done after I got clean almost 18 months ago..I didn't tell my Dr not to tell me but the opposite I said just give it to me straight up...he said no and I high fived him and he had a puzzled yet funny reaction...but also I never picked a needle up off the ground and used it, not passing judgement...some are sicker than others but he is one lucky guy. Glad you made it and continue to help people especially close to my area.

I found out I had Hep C when I was only thirteen from dirty needles in 2001... I've been clean and sober for several years now, but I am so grateful that medicine advanced enough over the last twenty years to clear me of Hepatitis ENTIRELY with vaccinations. HIV is not curable, sadly, but I encourage EVERYONE to be tested and to take care of yourself. Life is precious and valuable. My heart goes out to anyone and everyone suffering from any form of addiction. Recovery IS possible. 💗

Ugh...this brought up some feelings I've forgotten. I've been clean and sober for 10 years, but I was a junkies junkie. I remember a visit to the Dr, that was forced on me from my Dad because he saw my arms after not seeing me for 2 years, then realized my legs were the same, my abdomen too, my neck and even feet...anyhow, Dr says I'm clean, no viruses, no Hepatitis but...I had needles stuck in my arms that needed to come out. I didn't high five the Dr but I sure did High five myself. And this kids, is why needle exchanges are important.
