true fact: games back then were filmed with a literal potato.

You have to watch a game like this every once in a while to remember a different era and style of hockey. Man I miss it. I know it's not for everyone. Tough can be clean. I played my minor and Junior A in Detroit during what I recall as the good old days. Watching my older brothers play, hanging out with them after games. A rink rat. Went on to a University to play D1, which was so much softer, like the NHL today. Different styles, different game prep. Still love watching the talent of today's kids and men.

I forgot how nasty the games were back then, and this was a ratchet down from the 80’s. I remember the north stars / Bruins and Stars - Chicago series. Blood baths…wow, great memories.

Back before the trapezoid, which was instituted because of Martin Brodeur. So weird seeing a goalie handle the puck in that part of the ice, that rule having been instituted for so long now.
@hawk12983
@hawk12983 Жыл бұрын
That rule sucks, it just takes another aspect away from evaluating goalies, and it is exciting when a goalie leaves his net.

Goon style hockey was funny in Slapshot but I prefer the speed and skills of the players today. The occasional fight serves a purpose but it’s mostly to protect the skill players on the ice. Give me Kaprizov over Bertuzzi any day

Kevin Collins #50 NHL official was a real pain in the ass. He was a little to aggressive separating players and after would restrain one guy in a fight in an attempt to break it up.

4-decades Bruins fan. I've watched the good old days become what they are now. Not that I still don't love the Bs and hockey, I found it hard some years to stomach the soft creep in that beset them and the whole league. I'd take a tenth of this physicality, bottle it and have the league drink it. So, so many curl-aways from hits, defensemen glide along with a forward like a figure skating pair and pokey poke stick check rather than take the body, a mild shove after the whistle, stern looks and turn the other cheek. Gone are the days when Scott Steven's paroled the open ice and finish your check was doctrine, not something that seems avoided most nights. At the end of the day, its a game to entertain and this brand of old school hockey was highly entertaining.

That was the last of a dominant Todd Bertuzzi. 11 months later he almost decapitated Moore. But after watching every one of those boarder line charging and elbows to the heads of the Nucks players and Wild . no wonder Bert took the law in his own hands and took care of Steve when he saw his friend and captain motionless on the ice after a viscous headshot.

for Moore well after an examination in consort with some surgeons Moore's injury occurs when his team mates jump on their backs. Yes the culpability was Bertuzzi's but the end point stupidity is from those jumping on them.

Moore was a punk-ass If he was a man and met Bertuzzi to account for his dirty attack on Naslund, there would have been no issue and no serious injury. Regardless, the injury Moore suffered was likely from getting dog-piled by multiple people including his own team

game full of uncalled penalty's is NOT entertaining or old school hockey! Just dirty as fck! Lucky players werent taken out permanently! The referee should have been fired as soon as he left the ice.
