You've become my favorite watercolor artist because you talk about the way you feel during the process. I am very impatient and I know how it affects my watercolors, knowing that you also struggle with the process and that you also have artistic regrets makes me way more motivated. Your painting is amazing! Please, keep on helping us by being human like you are!

I really liked the tones on this piece. As I watched you paint I could focus on the amount of paint, your strokes to control the brush. Yes I enjoyed this video.

Looks good to me. I use masking fluid with a Frisk fineliner bottle. Saves ruining brushes, it’s blue so you can see it. It also helps me to be more expressive because I don’t have to worry about painting over white areas by mistake. It can look a bit ‘wooden’ though especially with water. You did an excellent job on this, it has a very natural fluid look.

Lynn Fetzer, I agree. Liron is a gifted artist; no question. I've sort of fallen in love with him over time because his lack of pretension, his very humanity, comes through so strongly. I'm 73. When I was young, I idealized artists for their insight and courage. As time went on, less so. These days especially Liron brings to mind my earlier ideals, even dreams, of the best that human beings can be.

Thank you so much for this. You always explain everything and this is why I prefer your channel. Is it possible for you to do a waves painting of the beach? You can't see the beach here. Waves breaking on the beach look kind of different and I'm having so much trouble figuring them out. Other youtubers don't really explain the process so i was wondering if you could do one and explain the process as you always do. Again, thank you so much for all that you do

This was great to see- you doing a natural seascape! Great loose approach. I love doing seascapes and landscapes so it was fun. You called it complex. Yes it is in a way but for me there's nothing g as complex as urban landscapes. I really like the result Liron. You're too modest. Btw, Imloved the gouache squiggles added-very effective.

I have really enjoyed observing your approach to doing this piece. Clouds and water are the most challenging for me and you have helped me think differently about painting them. I will trust the brush and the paper more. Let them do the work. And thanks for Turing me on to Sergey Temerev. Just what I needed right now. He is a master at water control.

@TheMarcusyt4 жыл бұрын
Liron, have a question. I'm beginning to understand what the initial wash means, and what's it for. My question is, sometimes the initial wash practically covers everything. At other times, only part of the painting is washed, and then left to dry before work on the rest happens. What's at play here? What would be the deciding factor to know how to proceed? Sorry, hope it's not too fiddly a question.

Amazing painting Liron! Do you ever use masking fluid? I find it so much easier to preserve the white, then If I have to tint the highlight after removing the mask I can do that.
@LironYan4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Nathan 😁 I should start using it more. Will try and find one I like (the ones I tried were so thick, and basically stuck to the brushes and were very hard to use.
@natlisan4 жыл бұрын
@@LironYan I believe that Molotow makes a masking pen in a couple of sizes, which makes it a lot more precise. I use the W&N masking fluid and the consistency is not too thick! maybe like cream. I'm not sure how easily available they are Israel though! P.S. My trick is to dip my brush in liquid hand soap or dish soap before dipping into the masking fluid so doesn't ruin my brushes, It really does work! Test that out, hopefully that helps!
@Wal484 жыл бұрын
Liron Yanconsky I found the W&N one too thick. I now use Pebeo which has a blue colour and is a much thinner consistency. I also use a pen, which is a small slim bottle with a needle like applicator which comes with a thin needle insert to prevent the small tube becoming clogged. It’s brilliant, Called FRISK masking fineliner. No need to apply with a brush, which I hate doing! Great to preserve thin lines and tiny bits of highlight. Can cover a larger area by squeezing more out if needed.
