A piece that manages to span the distance from Riley's "In C" (1964) to Reich's "Music For 18 Musicians" (1976), while remaining very much it's own thing. I am indebted to Wild Up and NPR:TDC for the revelation of Mr. Eastman and his work.

I am glad to see this group is finally getting recognition on NPR. I remember two years ago while listening to KUNM, the nightly Sunday show, known as, Other Voices Other Sounds played Julius Eastman's work under the name of an ensemble called Wild Up. Between driving to work and relaxation, I would binge this song and play ot loud on my aux cord. What a lovely treat for these chaotic times we are living in.
