You actually gave good advice about saturated games. People always just touch the very surface and say "FORTNITE! BAD" but giving yourself a day for discovery while you enjoy your favorite games is a great attempt at having the best of both worlds. Subbed!

The thing with saturated Games is Not really true tbh. I just started streaming Them late at night and suddenly had 15 viewers instead of the 3 i had over the Day. So if you play saturated games only, play the at night :P

Wild4Games I want to be a new streamer for the weekends around my work. I figured it would be good to make a couple £ here and there. I’m getting a new top class computer for the job. One thing I want to know is when I live stream, does it make a recording on a save file that I can use to upload to KZbin after? Also does it have to be an online game? I was planning to start off playing Alien Isolation to start off with.

If you use stream labs OBS you can actually hide that number. Whenever you stream ignore that number and just pretend like you have viewers 24/7 when steaming. You'll get better results

I think that small streams are better than big streams tbh. It's easier for the streamer to read the chat and answer questions, and it's easier for the people in the chat to talk to each other

One thing that alot new streamers struggles with is getting past the mental block. Someone told me before when i was new "Hide the viewer count, hide the follower count, if no one is talking in chat, pretend its 300+ people lurking". If you are silent because you now no one is there, any new folks who comes in will have nothing to be interested in until they break into the convo, instead you can invite them by talking all the time about stuff, maybe not even stuff related to the game. It worked okay for me atleast :D

If you're going to play saturated games like fortnite you actually have to be really freaking good at them and not just playing them for them for views . Also for God sake pay attention to your chat and interact with the people watching you. Talk about your day, tell a funny story, ask for some advice, something, anything. Every small streamer i try to give a chance never pays attention to chat and doesn't generate conversation.

Another tip I would give is tell your friends because if you can get a couple friends in your stream when people you dont know see you they will be more likely from what I've found to come in and if you have a couple people already chatting they will be more likely to stay and it will put you higher up on the list of streams for your game

Cool! I just started a couple weeks ago, but if I could throw in something quick. When I'm set to BRB, and have everything muted I'll usually take a minute to double check things like how many viewers there are (OBS and Twitch are sometimes incorrect on their numbers), Twitter, how long my playlist has left, etc. It's a little piece of mind that has been keeping me sane-ish :D

Alot of people say not to stream saturated games, but don't point out something almost as important, don't stream games with no viewership either. I'd say to go for games with 2 to 10 streams going on simultaneously in the beginning, then maybe as you start to get your own viewerbase you can start increase that range progressively.

It's literally my dream to be able to at some point make money from doing what I love - playing video games . Of course that's the dream of many more people , pretty much any young gaming addict like myself 😂 It just feels so surreal and difficult to ever achieve that , but hey there's people out there that have made it and channels like yours are honestly an inspiration. Videos like this are what people like me need to get started and you do the small twitch community an honour. Thanks for the advice mate 👊

Yeah, i feel the same. i see many people doing it, and where they are no pewds or marki ...they get to do it. so i feel like if everyone can why not i? i'd like to do this in my spare time to build community and have more to my gaming than just mere pixel acheivements...hah (its helped me alot emotional/mentally/etc to get into this gaming community further. ive been busy lately and missing it.) also help pay bills by getting hopefully a little pocket change to save for fun things and use hard work job money for "legit" needs such as bills, food, etc.

Another thing (possibly better than watching your video after the fact) is you can ask your chatters if they can think of any improvements or if they notice any problems. That way you're not scaring off new viewers/followers/subscribers due to lag or whatever. Also, try to build a strong connection with at least one or two of your viewers that you see in chat often. That way you usually have at least one person who drops by for most of the streams and can, again, tell you if there are any problems with it.

as a music producer what I've noticed is that social media isn't all about interacting with fans and followers, but also includes networking with other fellow producers, artists, streamers, etc. You can comment on some art or some work that another person u respect has done, and maybe send them your WIP or something in DMs and politely ask for feedback. Combine that with being active on some Discord channels, and you'll be able to make tons of friends in your same field of work. That way they can acknowledge you on THEIR social media when you finish one of your works, and you can in turn support them when they come out with their new stuff, or if they start streaming, stuff like that. Obviously I haven't really done the streaming thing but from my personal experience this is pretty useful if you're using social media to try and grow a creative project like music or art. I can't really speak for gaming streams since I suck at games, but I'd assume it uses a lot of the same concepts. There has to be some small, tight-knit communities dedicated towards streamers on Discord that you can be a part of if you become friends with the right people. Networking is definitely important for finding growth in this sort of thing

Great example.... I was watching a top Pubg player on Twitch... he battled someone who told this streamer he was following his guides to playing and was trying to be a streamer himself. This big-time streamer looked at his twitch page and saw he had 1 person watching. He told his chat to rush to his page. In minutes he went to THOUSANDS! He did not have any setup with social media or donations. People were like how do we donate... he said I didn't set that up. He might have lost hundreds if not a thousand dollars in donations. Lesson? Have your channel SETUP when you go live. Even if it is a basic look... have things ready in case something like that happen.

I started streaming SMITE and got to 60 orso followers and that took a long time, to many pro's streaming that. So when i got Gran Turismo Sport i started streaming that instead and my viewer base exploded and so did the followers. Sitting on 210 right now and still get new followers/viewers every stream. I'm streaming using *"PS4 SHARE"* and the negative with that is that most of the views (around 60%) does not come from twitch, but from *"PS4Live"* instead. Ofcourse a capture card would be better but then i would lose that 60% seeing as they do not have a twitch account or simply don't sign into twitch. So i have to make a choice here, do i get a Elgato and use that and lose the 60% or do i continue with the *"PS4SHARE"* and keep them but never get the follows.
@Wild4

The " reach out to other streamers" tip is very true. A while back I started checking out the "furry" community on twitch as I keep that one on my twitch as well. Just by going through some of the streams I seen there I found a few people I enjoy talking to and even a few raided me here and there and got me to 50 followers thanks to a raid from one of them. It's a really good idea to check out other smaller streamers maybe even party with a few in some multiplayer game you like.

Good tips :) I enjoy watching newer streamers the most as you get to watch and help their growth but one can learn alot by watching the people twitch features on the main page. I strongly suggest watching an established creator and see what they are doing and compare it to what you are doing. Now with this being said you should take what they are doing with a grain of salt because what works for them most likely will not work for you and you will need to put your own unique twist on it to make it work. I am a smaller sized content creator but I hate the term "small" anything because small is usually associated with a negative meaning. You are an entertainer first and foremost and you should flaunt that proudly... size is just a number and should have no effect on your quality. from my experience the #1 reasons people don't grow is lack of networking and they are boring (don't talk much, little interaction with the gamer and or viewers)
