Welcome back folks.
Today we leave the serenity of Glenuig, and make our way further north, visiting Loch Ness, Eilean Donan castle, ride the Wester Ross coastal trail, Applecross, and retire in the very remote Gairloch.
We have a chat about Drift Ghost issues and get treated to some typical Scottish weather, but, what is wrong with Alby's bike?

Lost count of how many times I've watched this NC500 series Richy! I've just got back from Scotland (Aug20), did the same route up over & towards Applecross. In the dry & sunny. They've added a few extra passing places & widened a couple of the bends on the approach up. Makes the traffic a bit easier to negotiate.

I once did a Solo tour from Wales, took a ferry to Caen, and rode through the alps to Italy, then back via Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and France again. Although touring in a group is great time to yourself to think is amazing, your own pace and seeing the stuff you want to see. I'd highly recommend it.

Near the 40 min mark, there used to be an area where a rocky path through a birch wood led down to the sea. In the mid sixties, my dad and I went down this path for a walk on a beautiful sunny day, and needing a pee, I strayed off the path about fifty yards into the trees and found an old British motorbike under a tarpaulin. Can't remember the make, but could be any of those mid fifties bikes, AJS, BSA, ARIEL, TRIUMPH, VELOCETTE. Estimate a 350, 500 single. Slightly rusty but complete, as if it had been there a few years. Went back there about fifteen years ago, and not only had the bike gone, but the wood had gone as well. Always wondered how and why it was there, and who was the lucky person who retrieved it!

Great tour Richy; the castle remains on Loch Ness is Urquhart Castle…..my ancestral home. When I was last there I told the lady at the pay desk who I was in the hope that she would let us in free…..fat chance! Neil Urquhart Cambridge 🇬🇧 PS: Have you considered a trans Canada tour East to West taking in the cities and the Rocky Mountains including Banff National Park and Jasper plus the many lakes…ending up in Vancouver, maybe Vancouver Island? I reckon it would be every bit as good as your USA tour, possibly even more spectacular?

Mate - I am gunna ride with you boys in 2022 on pain of giggles. I'll sleep ok again Richy. Thanks mate. Love it pal. Richy, what's the farthest you've gone w/flashing fuel light? Was it going through the state park at night on the America tour? I'm sure you don't remember me, but I'm one of your many loyal followers that also has a VFR ('07, maroon). (I'm the guy that noticed the different front wheel you had on on one of your tours lol!) Anyways, I've heard varying stories, but I've nervously gotten 30-35 miles out of mine with light flashing without running out. Anyways, thanks again for yet another great video! Your content, editing, etc are top-notch, and I always look forward to the next installment. Thanks again!! Shiny-side UP! :)

Great video Richy, did that route in the last week of May; was lucky enough to have the sun when we went over to Applecross and beyond. I hate it when the drift does that. I've found it's probably a fault with memory card formatting. For me I've found that formatting the card from your computer means you've got a bigger chance of it happening. If you use the Drift to format the card it doesn't happen - well, at least that's my experience and why I always use the Drift to format the cards once I've copied the footage.
@RichyVida

Yeah you should always format in the device not the computer. Dare I say it, it hasn’t happen since this incident. 🤷‍♂️
